The Queen of Spain surprised her close friend Sonsoles Ónega at a book signing on Monday.

Queen Letizia patiently waited in line for over 40 minutes to have a signed copy of Ónega's award-winning book, Las hijas de la criada (The Maid's Daughters). The pair have been friends for over two decades and developed their friendship while they were journalists working at CNN+.

I love the motorcycle jacket in pink. It's a refreshing change from basic black.

I'm loving this sassy pink zip front jacket from Hugo Boss, very much up Letizia's street! And it's fun that there's a new (to us) Mango bag, which looks like a handy casual wear item with the woven leather.

I think it's tremendous that Letizia waited in line to get her friend's autograph in her book, and wonder how there might not be more pictures of her having been recognised, Perhaps something to do with the frayed-edge ethnic-style scarf bundled on the top of her bag?!

A charming surprise for her friend, and a tribute to Letizia to have kept a friend through the many changes in her life.
