Princess Leonor farewells her family at airport before travelling to UK

Princess Leonor bade farewell to her parents, King Felipe VI & Queen Letizia, and sister Infanta Sofia at Madrid airport on Monday before traveling to Wales to start her school year at UWC Atlantic College.

It was clearly an emotional day for the Spanish royal family.

Princess Leonor, 15, will undertake a two-year course to study for her International Baccalaureate diploma. She will be joined by Princess Alexia of The Netherlands at the boarding school.

This was a lovely casual outfit, the perfect choice for this farewell. Princess Leonor will be missed. I have to say how much I admire the composure of the Queen. Unfortunately for my son, when I was in this situation I didn't have the same composure, floods of tears from my end!

Hi Elizabeth, We are doing much better, thank you for asking. It got worse before it got better! We implemented strategies to help keep them out of the house at least, and it worked, not before they left a trail of destruction! eating into wires, power to the house, my car! etc.... Spring is now again a problem, a warning was issued only this week, of the breeding season and influx of mice again. I wont complain though, you only have to look at certain states in our country, lockdowns and people ill with Covid a second wave . We have been in lockdown again now for the last 5 weeks, but it is keeping us safe. I hope you are doing well, stay safe. This blog is a great distraction and lifeline, thank you for all the hard work that goes into such a interesting and informative blog. Stay safe.

Brave Leonor stepping out into the world on her own and how charming to have the whole family t here to see her off. The girls are coordinated with their dark pants and tee-shirt tops. Letizia has opted for comfort if a little baggy and what a surprise to see Felipe in denim. I wish Leonor all the best for her stay in the UK and the rest of the family for coping with the absence of one of their tight-knit group.
