The King and Queen of Spain were seen arriving at La Moraleja Hospital with Queen Sofia to visit King Juan Carlos following his knee surgery.
This was the first time the two royal ladies were seen together in public following THAT Easter video. I have purposefully not mentioned it in previous posts as I do not like to speculate or comment on personal matters and circumstances we know nothing about. However, I have no issue with people sharing their opinions on this blog and you are all free to express your views so long as they are civil :) Anyway, onto Letizia's outfit!
Her Majesty sported a smart-casual look today wearing a classic beige trench coat and her black Hugo Boss HUGO 'Heylen' trousers (£189) which she recently debuted on a visit to the ancient city of Mérida.
The trench coat is a new piece from Hugo Boss. It is the 'Cirala' style (£370) featuring a traditional design with double-breasted front, storm-flap on the back and tab cuffs.
A trench coat is a wardrobe essential, but I have lost count of the number of beige raincoats Letizia has in her closet! Below are a few of the different styles that I recall her wearing.
Letizia carried her Paco Rabanne Black Leather Disc And Ring Small Bag which we first saw last September when she dropped off her daughters at school for the commencement of the academic year. The handbag is currently marked down to $864.50 at Barneys Warehouse which is a massive reduction from its original retail price of $2,890!
On her feet Letizia wore a pair of black leather oxford shoes.
She accessoried the understated outfit with her fine Chanel Comète Earrings.

Well, all I can say is that I prefer Letizia in her heels. She rarely wears flats, and I must say- I hated every piece.

I'm glad to that Sofia and Letizia have put aside their differences after last week's events. I hope the smiles are genuine and not some staged public relations act. On the fashion front- I like the classic trench coat but why does she need so many in the same beige colour and general style?

I think Letizia looks great, love the bag, the pants lenght not so much but, who cares? She looks beautiful. About the nasty video and this moment in the Hospital, well, Confucious said: "Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall."

A very practical outfit for a family hospital visit -- and I just love the great pr that's been pulled off following #videogate. I'm impressed with all those beige trench jackets, they all look very neat. I love the button detail on the Hugo Boss pants but I find the sight of Letizia in flats almost comic. It's so unsual it almost seems out of synch though they are clearly beautiful shoes. At least they keep her on the level with Sofia!

I think it's a good thing that you, as the author of this blog, try to avoid any spin on their private lives. Personally, I believe this whole thing was blown out of proportion, but I also think that if Letizia and Felipe follow a strategy to protect their daughters' privacy, it's not working and this is a prime example. I can understand why Letizia, having been bruised and battered by Spanish media and social media from the moment she surfaced on the scene, has a massive chip on the shoulder in this respect, but if she wanted her children to live private and quiet lives, then she shouldn't have married a crown prince, but as they say: love hurts! :)

Beata, what is interesting is that the person taking the picture was the court photographer. Meaning he/she was someone who had the authority to take pics of the royal family whom they knew. It also was a public place and I'm sure many people were taking photographs inside and outside the church. Looks like Letizia wanted to exercise control over her mother-in law more than anything. And like you said if you want privacy don't marry a future King and produce future heirs to the throne.

In Spain we haven't had any information about the monarchy until now, because it was forbidden. Probably this so exhibition or information hasn't been managed too well, they are not accustomed.

My style icon except for footwear. I actually never like any of her shoes. Nothing to do with the heel/no heel debate, I just have a completely different taste in shoe.
