King Felipe and Queen Letizia welcomed the President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, and First Lady María Clemencia Rodríguez Múnera at their home today in the Palace of Zarzuela.
Their Majesties hosted a luncheon for the couple in honour of their official visit to Spain.
Queen Letizia opted to repeat her white Felipe Varela tweed dress which she first wore in October 2017 during a visit to Valencia.
The bespoke dress takes inspiration from pieces in the Spanish designer's Spring/Summer 2017 collection. It features a notched collar, silver snap button bodice and patch pockets at the hips. It is finished with cropped sleeves and decorative tabs on the cuffs.
Letizia modified the look today with black leather accessories rather than silver when she debuted the dress. She cinched the dress with a black skinny belt and on her feet were a new pair of illusion d'Orsay pumps by Magrit.
She did however opt for the same jewellery as the first time she wore the dress. Letizia finished the ensemble with her diamond teardrop earrings.

This is a beautiful classic coat dress that looks fabulous on Letizia.

Both ladies look elegant. I think the thin black belt looks better than the silver one. It looks like Letizia has gained some weight in the meantime and she looks much better than two or or three years ago. The Colombian First Lady also looks very stylish. Classy lady.

Hello Edith. Finally someone notices that Letizia has gained some weight! 😥 I was beginning to think it was my imagination 🤔. Doesn't she look lovely? The outfit is nice and elegant. The earrings are precious. My own feet hurt just by looking at the shoes 😨

Patricia, Letizia was really very skinny some time ago. Since she has gained a bit "more weight" she looks more attractive in my opinion. I think Letizia is a real footwear fashionista :) and it's impressing how well she can walk in her high heels. However, I would like to see her once in kitten heels. I have seen extremely nice ones recently. Even Magrit has some in his new collection.

I agree with you absolutely, Sandy! I've had mixed opinions about recent outfits, but this is chic and stylish. I also prefer it with the skinny belt. It's lovely to see Letizia looking well

Do you think her feet look the way they do because of all the really high heels she wears all the time?

JoAnn, I didn't notice until you mentioned it but, yes her feet are starting to look strained. Any heel over 2.5 inches is so damaging to one's body. Not just the feet but the knees, hips and back also suffer. It's not worth risking your health for fashion. I hope Letizia realizes this fact.

It seems unlucky both ladies should opt for cream especially against a backdrop of pale marble steps. Letizia's coatdress is gorgeous & I love how she's switched from the silver accessories to businesslike black this time. The Varela fit is immaculate on Letizia, she wears it so well.

Bertie, yes the Varela fit is immaculate on Letizia because it is made-to-measure whereas HB, CH and others are ready-to-wear garments. And yes, the most important is the fit. Although the Varela style is sometimes quite boring with all the guipure and embroideries.

Great to see Letizia back wearing classic, chic outfits. She looks very nice. The shoes look like pure torture. I don't care for the plastic sides. I wouldn't be able to walk two metres in them.

Oh, Laura you're so right! That plastic looks painful to walk in. And what's the point? They don't really add anything to the outfit.

I guess the plastic is to give the illusion that there is nothing between the heel and toe leather, yet provide support???? It looks very uncomfortable. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
