Great formal dress which is elegantly accessorised. The Queen looks modern, chic and relatable. If I were to nit pick... it's a pity Hugo Boss didn't match the checks more sensitively on the seam line below the collar bone, else where it seems like an interesting design feature. I particularly like the double buckle belt and the small slit detail at the front. This dress reminds me of Roland Mouret's aesthetic with it's fitted silhouette and feminine use of seam lines.

I agree, the sewing is not so cared these days, I have even seen that with 2.000 euros dresses, amazing!!

Sadly I'm not surprised. At such high price points attention to detail should be meticulous.

I agree it's weird when high-end fails to match pattern seams, but in this case the dress is relying on mismatches for its asymmetric message, especially at the front where the bodice is cut on the cross against the skirt below, with one side of the skirt being straight horizontal/vertical, and the other having a whole extra angle of its own. Kinda confusing, though, I'd agree!!

This dress has a classic, professional look to it. I like the use of the black skinny belt and black shoes which provide contrast against the staid grey. The overlapping/crossover effect is also interesting. It would be great dress to wear in the summer. I keep forgetting how warm it is in Spain in what is still winter in the northern hemisphere.

It is not normal these temperatures at all, it seems May. However in summer we do not wear grey dresses...it's about 35C..in the Centre and South, the North part didn' t reach more than 25C...
It depends on tge region, in Castilla-León Autonomus Comunity they are having normal weather.
Madrid used to be cold in winter, until mid May....

I think this is proof that global warming is having a huge impact on the planet. The weather is no longer predictable or what we would consider "normal" all over the world. It is very frightening.

This Hugo Boss shift is divine. At first I assumed it must be repeat as Letizia so often favours a light grey plaid, so it's fun to learn it's new. The asymmetric patterning achieved by simply angling sections of the dress differently is well played, fashionable while remaining sophisticated. The little cap sleeves and neat belt are perfect, as are her sharp Herrera clutch and strappy slingbacks. The dagger earrings are so in keeping with the fabric cut on the cross for contrast. Brilliant by Letizia.

All Europe is suffering an increase, anyway in Sweden we're wearing suits...Denmark and Norway had 30C last summer, incredible!!
And London had 21C last week.

This is a classy, professional look and befits the occasion. I really like the slingbacks. they help deliver the total packaged look of this outfit. Last year's suit looks very special on Queen Letizia.
