I like the contrasting shoe and purse; it adds visual interest.

I absolutely LOVE this dress. Great look.

Does anyone but me ever notice the feet of these women who wear such high heels? Not just Letizia. Their feet look lumpy and painful. I predict big problems for them as they age.

I agree, Joanie. The Duchess of Cambridge and Melania Trump also wear very high heels too. I don't understand why the heels have to be so high? Do they think they look better or are more stylish? You could take the same style of shoe, lower the heel a couple of inches and they would still look attractive. I think they just want to be taller because of their positions but it's not worth the damage to ones feet, knees and back in the long run.

Joanie, you're so right. I spent three-and-a-half years living in Madrid and I could never wear any kind of a heel on those cobblestone streets. I don't know how she does it. Maybe she pads them like the interior with something soft or something. Anyway, she's such a beautiful queen.

There are only cobblestones in the old part of the city, which is not very large, the rest is modern pavement. She rarely visits that part.

I feel a sense of relief at seeing a well-made dress again, and applaud the re-wear of a fun item, even if it is a bit hard on the eyes in photos. I love the subtlety of the HB cut of neckline with gentle scoop and the slightly capped shoulders, plus the admirable use of black edging them and again on the waistband. It's also a pleasure to see how the stripes are graded through the tier layers of the skirt. It's such a pretty fit-and-flare with a perfect length for Letizia and looks youthful and suits having her hair loose. I like her mismatch accessories playing with the black-and-white theme.

Love love love this dress. A black purse would have been better.

It's great to see a repeat that hasn't been worn in a while. Sadly I don't like this Hugo Boss, looking back at previous wears this is the strongest styling wise and by far my favourite outing of the dress. I'm not sure why I don't like it, I have never warmed to it. The woven pattern is modern and clever, the length and fit are perfect, I like the built in waist band and the Queen wears it well. There is a particularly lovely photograph on CasaReal Twitter showcasing the dress, Letizia is outside a building in side profile. I'm finding it hard to find reasons why I dislike it, to me it looks fuzzy. I may prefer it in a softer colourway although I appreciate that the monochrome is striking and that was clearly the designers intention.

I wonder if it looks better in real life? The lines are a bit jarring in the picture. As ever, Leti looks relaxed and polished. Is that ring her new wedding band?

I remember reading that she does not wear her engagement or wedding rings because she shakes hands so much. I always thought that was a strange excuse. Her engagement ring is a circle of baguettes.

I think that we have explained that the engagemmet ring in Spain is not worn because it is not a tradition, it is a foreign thing, we do not receive a ring as engagement if not a bracelet, only one "band" on the right hand.

Most people do not wear it. You need to open your mind to other cultures, not everybody has the same traditions. Not excuses, also everybody knows she is married, however nobody needs to be "marked", if you are married or not is a personal thing, at least in this country.

No, because in Spain the "band" is worn on the right hand if you decided to wear it, which is not very common.

The Queen looks lovely, but there is something about the fabric colour, I am not sure, that makes the overall look too chaotic for me. The cut, length, neckline and fit of the dress is perfect for her. The sling back pumps are a hit, a black clutch I thought would have been nice. The dagger earrings I always love.
