This is a stunning look! The Queen looks oh so chic while completely appropriate for the engagement. I adore these Manolo Blahniks! I would love to see more of the brands designs in her closet. The tear drop earrings are substantial enough to add some necessary sparkle to an all black evening look. A lovely surprise, I had expected a repeat at this engagement.

I have been looking forward to this post thank you so much Elizabeth!

This is a perfect outfit. Letizia looks gorgeous from head to toe. Hugo Boss really hit a home run with this dress. It is superb because of the different fabrics and textures all interwoven to create a magnificent design. You have the matte fabric alongside the satiny fabric and then the diagonal crossover with the pleats. It all comes together and blends into one awesome design. One of Queen Letizia's best. I would put it in the top ten. Oh, and the shoes are also very beautiful and her wavy hairstyle looks great too.

Letizia looks stunning and I like every aspect of her outfit. But....and I'm going to sound old fashioned here...I think bare arms and strappy shoes are not the best choice for an In Memoriam event.

I agree, Laura. This is look is stunning... for a cocktail party.

There was a cocktail later obviously, it is a Memorial, for things happened back in the day, not a funeral.

She knows how to keep black from being just another black dress.
The shoes give this look an edge.

That is one stunning dress from Hugo Boss, what a find! Contrast fabric, asymmetric panels and knife pleating -- such a mix and so discreetly devised there's no mistaking it for a less than sober choice for a memorial event. I adore the shoes, although maybe they are a touch cocktail maybe it was in the evening. Earrings and hair are fabulous.

I don't actually like the fit of this dress; the diagonal satin panel seems to distort the figure. Her hair and make up are dreamy though. As usual, I think the shoes are dreadful.
