I don't normally comment on King Felipe's sartorial choices, but I thought it was worth noting that he paid respect to the host nation by wearing a Cuban men's summer shirt, called a guayabera. It is worn outside the trousers, distinguished by two vertical rows of closely sewn pleats running the length of the front and back of the shirt.

Wow, look at that arms! Now we know what Letizia is doing when she is not at work- she is exercising! She looks sensational, and in my opinion that is also a reason she wears all type of clothes so well- she's got a great figure! Someone who is not built that well, always has to be careful with chosing clothes, not to draw attention to the wrong place.
I'm glad that today she wears something that she hasn't worn for a long time. I hope she will continue to dig deeper in her closet.

She practises Iyengar yoga and dance with her girlfriends, which is very good for the posture. Probably some work out too.
(She still keeps her journalist girlfriends)

It's so wonderful to see King Felipe gets a special mention on the blog today! I was actually wondering about the shirt and thought it was outside his usual style so I really appreciate the information on the shirt because I wasn't aware it was a local design. I'm also happy to see Letizia bring back this exquisite CH dress. I like it paired with the espadrilles and it seems her choice in shoes was a good one because the cobble stone paths look hazardous.

The dress looked way better with the high heeled pumps. I think I have seen Letizia wear them on cobbled stoned streets before.

In La Habana heels are imposible Sandy. She even needed Felipe's help to walk and the heat. Also it was a private stroll as a couple, not oficial at all. They were walking for two hours visiting places.
And....alpargatas are Spanish and South American...do not forget that....

The cobbled in Cuba is a disaster they are not repaired as in Spain, or the rest of Europe you could break a leg. You only need to see her foot in one photo that they are holding hands.

PS: I live in Argentina.

I agree with Wendy; I don't see how she could have walked safely and comfortably on those cobble stone streets wearing heels.

O.K. Wendy, the espadrilles were a wise choice this time around.

I was chuffed to see Felippe get an honorary mention too, can't recall ever seeing him untucked before! Fun that it's a local garment, and he looks well in it.

I love, love the guayabera King Felipe is wearing. My husband wore one when we were visiting La Habana and Varadero.

And Floridita Bar where Hemingway used to drink a daiquiri....there is strawberry daiquiri...

Letizia had been in Cuba before meeting Felipe, she must be showing him the place.

My word, there seems to be a great lack of security as they wander through the streets. The crowds are not at all organized nor restricted, so trust all went well.

This CH dress is very pretty on Letizia. It is ladylike and stylish. Although I don't usually care for these shoes, they are practical on the cobble stones and work well with the dress.

It is a military place, nobody can move.

This dress fits her perfectly--note the smooth bodice and no gapping around the armscye. A perfect dress for warm weather.

This is a beautiful dress, I love the floral embroidery, so pretty. Nice cool colour. Shoe choice was a wise one considering the cobble stone paths.

JUst wonderful to see this ornate embossed style CH dress again, the pattern of the raised texture is rich without being overcrowded by remaining all cream. The shape and fit are wonderful on Letizia and the overall effect is a perfect summer look, just right for warm days in Cuba. The slit crew neck is low without being immodest and gives edge to the sweetness of the garment.

For once I can live with strappy espadrilles as this Sardinia pair are neat enough to work and not look messy. The toning beige Magrit clutch is pretty and appropriate and good to see those fine hoop earrings still taking a turn. Lovely full post, thanks to whoever is putting them together, loving this sunny tour!!

QL 's got some arms. Toned and tanned. Nice dress. I like wedges just not with wraps around the legs.

What a pretty dress. The eye is drawn to Queen Letizia in the photos as the dress fits her so well - she looks elegant even wearing the espadrilles.

How lovely to see this gorgeous Carolina Herrera again, it is one of my favourite dresses that she owns from the brand. The crisp fabric and panelled seam work beautifully accentuate the fullness of the skirt and the sharp V-cut of the fitted bodice. Outlines of florals are stenciled in raised fabric creating a 3D like effect and the clotted cream colour adds to the timelessness of the piece. Previous wears were accessorised with snake-skin pumps which chicly diluted the femininity of the dress. I'm pleasantly surprised at how well the relaxed styling works here, the soft neutrals and gold tones blend smoothly. As always, Letizia looks incredibly polished, but the espadrilles add an approachability to the outfit for meeting students and walking around Old Havana. Thank you for the research into King Felipe's guayabera, it’s great to see him embrace the traditional Cuban style.

Guayaberas are popular in all spanish-speaking tropical countries (México, Central America, Caribbean islands, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela), not only Cuba. They are really fresh and can wear for formal occasions.
