FameLab, founded in the United Kingdom, is an annual communications competition designed to give scientists and engineers a platform to share their enthusiasm for their subject with the public. The contestants are required to break down their science, technology and engineering concepts into fun and entertaining three minute presentations. The winner from each participating country gets to battle it out at the FameLab International Grand Final in June at the Cheltenham Science Festival.

FASHION FLASHBACK
I was expecting to see Queen Letizia show off a new look like she has done in the past for this annual event, but instead she opted for familiar pieces. Do you have a favourite Famelab outfit?

I love these jumpsuits but I've yet to find one that fits. This one looks elegant, comfortable, and modern. I'm not a fan of the contrasting zipper in general but I like how this jumpsuit as the little sleeve. The accessories look smart too.

I am not one for jumpsuits, but I love this one on the Queen, she looks terrific, I really like the navy colours, including matching bag and shoes, adore the earrings.

This jumpsuit is from 2015 and cost 50€. Three times worn, amortized!!

Happy to see another older item pulled from Letizia's wardrobe, this jumpsuit has such an effortless ease. The block navy looks sophisticated but I can't help feeling that there is something missing... the look is equally nonchalant and polished. I'm not entirely convinced it needs toying with, but the addition of a sliver bracelet like the mesh-style one worn on 7/11/17 would have complemented the Bvlgari earrings and lifted the look. It's great to see Letizia wearing a ring as she so rarely does but I wish it were a silver design so it matched the zip detailing on the jumpsuit and the hard-wear on the clutch. Hair and makeup look lovely.

Jenny!! The zip detailing is gold, not silver. She wore it with a golden belt and matching sandals in the past.

I don't really care for jumpsuits mainly because I find them impractical when visiting the restroom. I can't imagine having to go through undoing them and doing them up again several times a day. This particular one has a plain & casual look as presented on the model. Nothing great IMO. I personally love the Nina Ricci outfit worn in 2016. It's one of my absolute favorites. The top is so original and gorgeous. If Letizia was going to resurrect an old outfit why not that one instead of this stale jumpsuit??

Because she can't repeat the same outfit at same event. I own some pantsuits myself, they are comfy, they are for summer, you do not wear more clothes.

Hi Sandy, I agree that 2016 was an outstanding ensemble, I always forget to comment on the fashion flashback. The top was beautiful, the epitome of French elegance. Guillaume Henry created some stunning pieces during his tenure at Nina Ricci. The styling also enhanced the look, the patent navy court shoes and the blue crystal earrings brought such polish to the outfit.

Jennifer, let's hope Letizia wears it again. It was one of her more expensive pieces so I hope she can get her money's worth. I never heard of Guillaume Henry. I can see you have a great deal of knowledge regarding fashion. Thanks for the info.

Jennifer, isn't Oscar de la Renta the creative director for Nina Ricci since 2014? In fact Nina Ricci brand belongs to the Spanish group PUIG.

Sorry, Peter Copping left NR to work for Oscar de la Renta in 2015, so in 2016 Gullaume Henry was in charge.
Now he has quit too, and, Rushemy Botter and Lusi Herebrugh are the new ones since 2018.

Sandy, she has repeated it many times, in Mexico etc...
Elizabeth ha all stored.

Thanks Simone. I will check. I guess she hasn't worn it again since I have been following the blog.

Hi Simone, I'm fond of Nina Ricci and have followed the succession of creative directors with avid interest over the years. Sadly, the most recent collection by Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh didn't make the splash I hoped it would (for me) it was too sporty. I appreciate that it can take a few seasons for designers to settle in, so I'm excited to see what the duo will produce next! The Queen has worn some fabulous pieces by the brand, I'd love to see more. Two of my other favourite looks were the striped sequin dress worn on 13/12/2016 and the red separates with the black and white coat worn in France on 3/6/2015.

Jennifer, the red one has been repeated 4 times as Elizabeth's store shows, the othe one too., this year.

Hi Wendy, I had to check, it's so hard to tell! You could be right! but I'd say the zip looks silver (in the final photo above the fashion flashback selection, Letizia is holding her hand against her noise and you can see the top of the zip) The jumpsuit looked great with the muted gold accessories that she wore it with in 2015, most likely why it is so hard to tell.

I love this look of Letizia, it's modern and fresh. I agree with Genevieve that I have tried many jumpsuits and haven't found one that looks right yet! I wonder if Letizia has had this one tailored?

I also don't wear jumpsuits, but Letizia sure looks chic in every one she has. This jumpsuit looks so much better with golden accessoires, it makes great contrast.
Like this is too much navy, and I become alergic to all navy since Meghan Markle and her navy navy navy navy navy and than again navy outfits. 😉

Oh my goodness, I'd looked back here so often to see if we were in business again that I settled in for a long wait only to find I missed our relaunch! I was just delighted to see Letizia repeat this neat Mango jumpsuit. It's not a style everyone can pull off but Letizia wears it with aplomb. The fabric has a soft drape which helps everything to sit well. The exposed front zip adds a great edge and I love the Herrera slingbacks with this, I have no problem with a flash of red sole in this context.

In Spain we wear this type of jumpsuits a lot. It is easy, you do not need two pieces, it is comfy but not too much sport, depending the accesories.
