I put this suit — or at least the jacket— into the same category as the queen’s recent skirt with a hole in it: a gimmick. Such a dark suit needs something to lighten it up, but feathers at the sleeves, and black feathers at that, don’t do the trick for me. It looks like a Halloween costume on the model.

Really? Pertegaz , one of the BEST designers in the world, her brinde gown as well.
Light?? Halloween? Mamma mía!!

We all have different opinions and I'm grateful for this space to exchange them respectfully. I myself have struggled with this suit and appreciate where Anne is coming from. Always good to heat from new people.

This tuxedo suit is more than adequate for a meeting with NATO representatives. It's a mark of respect that the queen chose an ultra formal look. The feathered cuffs are the kind of embellishment that is expected of a haute couture fashion house.
Halloween?? Oh dear!

Its wonderful to see this black pantsuit again. I don't normally like feathers, but the Queen has the flair and style to wear this pantsuit beautifully. I certainly dont have either of these qualities or the confidence to be seen in such a design. The feathers IMO elevate the overall look, from a plain black pantsuit to another level. The fit is perfect. I like the black top underneath. The Chanel diamond earrings are sedate and subtle, wise choice. Her hair up and makeup are perfect. Black shoes good decision, I don't like the color of the model's shoes.

This is an expression of whimsy I can get behind. Looks fantastic. I can't see the rhinestones. Love the hair and the earrings and the makeup. I never like her shoes and these are no exception but I guess they 'go'.

My tussle with the Helbig outfit on the previous post has clearly helped stretch my fashion vision, I love it when this happens. I didn't take to this feathered Pertegez suit when we first saw it and now I'm loving it!

The feather and rhinestones embellishment add a refreshing touch to the classic jacket and give a touch of flamboyance in keeping with the palace surroundings. Cigarette pants are always the best, a well-tapered leg is most flattering.

The fun Blahnik pumps are another futuristic touch for the UN event and echo the innovation of the feathers on the jacket sleeves. With hair up and the lovely Chanel plume earrings -- almost an old-fashioned style compared with the jacket and shoes -- Letizia looks immaculate and on point for a formal reception.
