King Felipe and Queen Letizia attended the prestigious 'Miguel de Cervantes' 2022 Award Ceremony on Monday.
The annual event is held at the University of Alcalá in the town of Alcalá de Henares - the birthplace of Spain's greatest writer, Miguel de Cervantes who is best known for his masterpiece, Don Quixote.
The award is one of the richest literary prizes in the world and is the most regarded in Spain and Latin America. It honours the lifetime achievement of an eminent writer in the Spanish language. This year, Their Majesties presented the "Miguel de Cervantes" Prize to Venezuelan poet, Rafael Cadenas.
