The King and Queen of Spain were in Valencia on Friday to preside over the Rei Jaume I Awards ceremony at the Lonja de los Mercaderes.

The prestigious Rei Jaume I Awards was created in 1989, with the objective of bringing together scientific and business entities for the promotion of research and scientific development in Spain.

The wide belt makes this dress look unflattering and frumpy. It's much better when she wore it with a skinny belt.

I agree, Milly. The belt is much too wide and cuts Letizia in half. A slimmer belt would coordinated better with the light fabric of the dress.

The subdued monochrome dot pattern gives a businesslike vibe to a handy working dress from Armani. I'm not a fan of frills and flounces but the cuff detail is cleverly done by being quite deep. There seems to be an excess of fabric in danger of swamping Letizia, but the wide belt does a masterly job of bringing it back under control. I love the Herrera slingbacks and the diamond and pearl drop earrings work well here.

This is a beautiful dress and lovely to see it repeated, so elegant. The pleated skirt flows beautifully. I love the addition of the frilled cuffs, very feminine touch. The black wide belt is a great choice, doing a masterly job in regulating the fabric of the skirt. The CH Slingback pumps look fabulous. The diamond and pearl drop earrings are stunning. The pearls are a generous size, love them.
