As honorary president of the Spanish Federation For Rare Diseases, Queen Letizia presided over a ceremony at the Spanish Senate to mark World Rare Disease Day.
Her Majesty delivered a speech in which she empathized with the hardships families endure that have children suffering from a rare disease. She also stressed the importance of scientific research in the search for cures, and acknowledged individuals and organizations who support people with rare diseases.
Following the ceremony, Queen Letizia took time to meet families and children living with a rare disease. She was naturally tender and affectionate with the people she met.
Today, Letizia opted for a low key yet professional style.
She recycled the outfit she debuted in November last year at the 75th anniversary of the Higher Council for Scientific Research.
The outfit consists of a Mango floral print blouse and red blazer (probably from Felipe Varela), and black straight leg trousers (most likely Hugo Boss).
On her feet were the Carolina Herrera black patent and suede pumps.
She wore her Link of London Hope Egg earrings.
Today, Doña Letizia premiered a new black leather clutch that has a semi-circle cutout along the base of the purse.
The handbag is by the Spanish firm, Cucareliquia. The style is called 'Archy' and is made from nappa leather.
This €535 clutch is also available in other colour options.
Today's event marked the end of Queen Letizia busy public schedule this week. Casa Real is yet to publish next week's agenda so we'll have to wait as see what is in stall for Her Majesty!
