The Queen of Spain attended the 'Mariano de Cavia', 'Luca de Tena' and 'Mingote' Journalism Awards gala dinner this evening hosted by Spain's national newspaper, ABC.
The awards are the oldest and most prestigious honours in Spanish journalism and Queen Letizia, a former journalist, was on hand to deliver the €10,000 prize to this year's recipients.
Queen Letizia is usually accompanied by her husband at this annual black-tie event, but Her Majesty went solo tonight and stepped out in a burgundy Angel Schlesser Sleeveless Jumpsuit (€430).
The contemporary piece from the Spanish designer's current Fall/Winter collection is fashioned with a v-neck and wide trouser leg. The jumpsuit comes complete with a matching belt.
She also championed Spanish fashion in the accessories department. Tonight Letizia debuted the Tita Madrid 'Spiga' pink clutch (€290) - a handbag made from pink cowhide leather and designed with a chevron patterned velvet flap front in a mix of burgundy, mustard, pink and nude tones. Founded in 2013, Tita Madrid is a luxury handbag brand that prides itself on its Made in Spain label and eclectic design.
On her feet, we saw the return of her well-worn LODI 'Sara' ombre patent pumps.
Letizia offset the look with her dazzling Yanes diamond girandole earrings, Cartier diamond column bracelet and green stone ring.
We conclude with a gallery of Letizia's past looks for this black-tie awards gala. Do you have a favourite?

I think that the queen rocks with her few last outits! She wears every style great- romantic flower dresses, evening dresses or this modern and chic jumpsuit! On her, it looks sexy. I think that the Duchess of Cambridge is not nearly her league...Thank you Elizabeth for the great blog! Pardon my bad english.

I like the black column gown she wore in 2015 followed by the beaded cocktail dress in 2011. I do like the jumpsuit.

2015 is my favourite. I love the cut-away shoulders and the slim column look on Letizia. Lovely detail around the neckline but overall so unfussy.

I like the way that she mixes up the look. Never predictable, always stylish.

I applaud Letizia's willingness to experiment with style and fashion but I found this particular jumpsuit seems to swamp her and the trouser legs are a bit too full for her petite frame. Glad to see I'm a lone dissenter and everyone else gives it an unequivocal thumbs-up!
