Queen Letizia was in Santiago on Friday to promote "Digitalizadas" - a program that aims to encourage digital literacy of women living in rural areas in Spain.
Her Majesty channeled vintage glamour in a petrol blue tea dress by Italian luxury brand Bottega Veneta as she attended the tech event at the city's Reyes Catolicos Hotel.
Cut from crepe fabric in an ultra-feminine V-neck silhouette, this chic lightweight dress is embroidered with black butterfly motifs – a hallmark of the fashion house, and a leading detail in Bottega Veneta's Resort 2018 collection. Ruched shoulders, ruffles and sewn pleats at the waist lend a subtle romantic edge. The US$2,460 dress is currently available at Bottega Veneta, Matches Fashion, Orchard Mile and Neiman Marcus.
Letizia complemented the pretty dress with her dainty Elena C mini butterfly earrings.
She accessoried with her black Felipe Varela leather chevron quilted envelope clutch and Prada saffiano pumps.
Following the event, Queen Letizia exited wearing a black wool coat we have not seen her don before.
The new piece is the Carolina Herrera A-Line Belted Coat (£3,670), crafted from stretch virgin wool and featuring notched lapels, a double breasted front fastening, a belted waist, and side flap pockets.

Sleeveless in Santiago de Compostela, Northwest of Spain, at 6C. Despite being indoors ,the cloisters of a monastery ( the hotel was an ancient convent) are always cold.

Beautiful dress! I love the mid-blue colour, the classic style, the stitching pattern on the bodice and waist and the fabric. I don't know why it so expensive as it is a polyester blend. The coat is also very expensive. Letizia must have been saving up for months. I have to say it must get very warm in Spain during the winter. I am envious. Here in Canada we are freezing. I couldn't wear that short sleeved dress at this time of the year.

Iberia, it always seems sunny where you are. I never see snow there. If you want to experience real, real cold come to Canada in January. Letizia looks like she is dress more for fall rather than winter.

Sandy, I have been to the East Coast of Canada, but in August. Otherwise,In Spain it is very different the North, (No sun it rains a lot) , Center, South and the Mediterranean part, obviously Canada is very cold. I must say this winter has been very tough, we have had even -15Celsius. It is snowing in the north yet. Canada is amazing!!

You only need to watch her when leaving, wrapped up warm. Moreover, she was in North green Spain, wet and rainy.

I was in Toronto!! I visited the underground city.😀....The CN Tower....I was told that temperatures are normal, even the moustaches and eyelashes get frozen... However in summer is very lively!! I am in love with Canada, I was in Quebec as well... Niagara Falls...I saw whales.....I haven't been to the West coast, though..

Wow, you have seen a lot of Canada! The West Coast is the most beautiful. Vancouver is stunning and the Rockies are breathtaking.

Hello Elisabeth. Thank you for your good work. Letizia looks amazing. The dress is precious. It's nice to see Letizia wearing a brand like Bottega Veneta.

Love the coat, not so much the dress as I didn't really like the colour.

Bottega Veneta, ladies and gentleman! I guess the 'austeridad' policy does not apply today:). The dress is beautiful in a vintage sort of way, but I'm not sure this is a flattering shade on Letizia? She could perhaps jazz it up with her accessories, but in this weather and location, maybe not. I've never liked this clutch, I've always loved the pumps, and the coat is fab!

To be fair, she does wear a lot of outfits many, many times over.

Highly likely, Sandy! Bottega Veneta has just opened up a showroom in Madrid. Leticia's stylists must have taken a gander. Everyone suspects that happens with Hugo Boss and Carolina Herrera.

I think this is better than some of the tea-dresses Letizia has tried by virtue of the fact the bodice at least is fitted. It feels odd to see her persevere with these styles when close-fit tailoring is her signature look. I can't fault this one for a business like look but it seems a bit on the dour side and the black embroidery and accessories only add to the effect.

In Spain it's just the contrary, people don't like the close tailored fit, she has been criticized for it..

Love the coat, but don't love the dress sticking out the bottom. As for the dress, I think it looks frumpy…something I've never said before about anything that Letizia has worn. While the dress has some unique details, I can't see what would make it so pricey.

In this country we don't like the coats covering the dresses, it seems like you are naked underneath...a bit odd....Both matches as well, fullness..

What a lovely dress!! But for middle spring or summer..., not for a cold and rainy day in Santiago de Compostela.

I've been following/loving Letizia's outfits for years now. But Why has she worn so many white and black this year? I picture her having all these closets and that one comes first, so she grabs something in it and goes on from there😯
