I only just noticed King Felipe's hand is in a cast. Does anyone know what happened?

Wow, that dress is stunning on Letizia, although I do wonder if the backless look is a bit too much skin, for this occasion. In the photo to the left of the model, the lady on the left behind Letizia, looks a bit disapproving.

You're very observant, Laura. It looks like she noticed you can't wear a bra with that style dress and she is a bit horrified.

I know I am old fashioned but I think Letizia's dress is too flashy & glitzy for a queen. The sequins, low neckline and plunging back stand in sharp contrast to the modest outfits of Queen Margrethe and CP Mary. Actually she looks out of place compared to all the women in the photo like she is off to a nightclub rather than a royal reception.

I agree with you, Sandy. Letizia looks striking in this dress, but i too question if it is appropriate. I prefer the more modest outfits of the Danish Royals.

I've seen other photos and apparently the dress was altered to make the back less plunging.

Princess Benedikte seems to be studying the back of Letizia’s dress :)

This dress looks fabulous, I like it very much, but on this occasion, I have to agree with Sandy. Considering the event, I am not so sure that it was the best choice. The neckline and plunging back. I'm a little old fashioned! Regardless she looks beautiful.

Ava, I'm glad I'm not the only old-fashioned one here.

Sandy, your not. I felt the same as you.

It is very sad, that the focus is on how low the back of the dress is and how plunging the neckline may be, when the fact remains that she wears the dress beautifully.

As long as cultural or religious boundaries are not violated - is it not a powerful message to all young people everywhere to have the confidence to choose attire that makes YOU look and feel stunning?
