King Felipe and Queen Letizia hosted a private dinner at the Palace of La Zarzuela this evening for President Xi Jinping of China and his wife who are on a three-day State visit to Spain.

Queen Letizia looked dazzling in her peacock blue Felipe Varela midi dress, first worn at the 2017 Princess of Asturias Awards concert.

She again teamed it with her navy Nina Ricci suede pumps.

Letizia accessorized with her Bvlgari aquamarine teardrop earrings, and a 'joyas de pasar' bracelet for the stately occasion.

Wow...that dress is perfection! Of course, having a physique like hers doesn’t hurt! Does anyone know what kind of diet and fitness plan she follows? I’ve looked but have never been able to find much information.

Spanish diet; vegetables, fruit and fish. Nothing of junk food or something. Very few sugar or flour. Meat twice a month.
She practices yoga and dancing.
It is not so difficult, in Spain there are very few fat people.

This look is absolutely stunning. I tried to determine the material of the Felipe Varela dress by checking the blog for the first time she wore it, but I haven't seen any mention of what it is made of. I always admire how Letizia knows how to fit her appearance to the occasion, so it looks like these high-profile visitors merit one of the greatest dresses in her closet!

It's very kind of you to look out for me Estitxu. I don't stop posting, it's just that sometimes I'm a bit slower than others and come along behind the rest of you! My health fluctuates and it also gives me more time to enjoy the outfits that way ;-)

Letizia looks gorgeous in this beautiful dress. Everything about it is just perfect- the colour, style, fabric etc. I've seen the dress before but this is the first time I'm seeing the back and those buttons look great. This is a very important visit from President Xi as he is a very powerful man right now. Letizia's choice of attire shows respect and dignity for the occasion.

I love this Varela dress to bits, the elegant cutaway shoulders, the sleek crew neckline, and the dropped waist leaving solid fabric behind to descend into those heavenly floating pleated layers of the skirt. While the back buttons look wonderful and make a nice feature I can't help wondering if they are uncomfortable to sit on! Letizia's hair is looking just gorgeous, thick, shiny and sleek and I like those court shoes and the sparkly bracelet. I only have a tiny concern that the blue of the earrings is a touch pale against the rest, but overall Letizia looks brilliant to me.

Yippie, or is it hurrah! The blog back! This beautiful swirly dress and it's pink twin from the National Day are two of my favourites. They move with her at every step almost like the old music box dancers. Say what they will about Varela, some of the prettiest dresses she has worn show that he can fit the dress to his client with flawless results. One wish..the blue dress should have matching covered buttons, and she can create contrast/interest with that huge pearl necklace from the PDA awards.

Wow, the two ladies in this lovely shade of blue. They both look amazing. While I prefer sleeves on everything, you can't argue this dress isn't gorgeous, especially from the back.
