This is a great evening dress that has a lot of glitz and shimmer. Letizia looks beautiful but seems out of place and overdressed in comparison to what the other ladies are wearing. I think this dress would be more appropriate for a more formal event rather than this concert. I think it would be perfect for this years Princess of Asturias awards.

Agree. Beautiful dress, fit, styling etc but too early in the day

It was her birthday, 50 years. Other royals have had a party, Letizia only work.

This is an exceptionally lovely evening dress. I love the Navy accessories. The Queen looks fabulous. Her hair styled in this way looks great. The King looks well-groomed as always, very debonair.

I'm a big fan of Guillaume Henry's debut collection for Nina Ricci (Fall 2015) which this dress is from. I thought it successfully embodied 'French refinement'. In the past, the Nina Ricci House has been associated with romance. Henry's first collection didn't depart entirely from this MO, but he delivered a simplified silhouette in a neutral colour palette (except for one red sequin dress). The fit of similarly cut dresses on the runway were slightly looser, and the sleeves were very long. This presented a less traditional style for evening wear. Fitted shift dresses suit the Queen well and usually translate (commercially) easier off the runway. Henry intentionally cut dresses in straight lines, reminiscent of T-shirts with the purpose of creating an air of nonchalance, which allows the sequins and textures to be the focus. In an interview, Henry said that the sequins were dyed and washed to create a three-dimensional effect. I think this method has worked beautifully, as multiple colours can be seen in the dress close-up which provides depth. For me, this is an outstanding look from Letizia! possibly her best over the last few years. The streamlined accessories and sleek hair add to the modern look. Minus the furs and sheer pieces, although they could have lining or slips, I hope Letizia has more pieces stored away from this collection. Similar to how Letizia wore the gorgeous Nina Ricci (also by Guillaume Henry) plissé dress on 13/11/19, several years after it had been released by the House.

I think this may be the top & skirt version of the dress:

Thanks for the designer update, fascinating. The studio shots make it look as if there's an area of contrast texture just below the dress neckline, but, whatever, the mastery of colour in the sequins is remarkable. I too would be happy to see more from the same source on Letizia!

This Nina Ricci sequin dress is the stuff of dreams, the gentle highlights of pink amid rippling midnight blue is just amazing. The styling is beautiful, the crew neck and long sleeves look sophisticated against the knee-length skirt. I like the quiet highlighting of the waistline too.

The plain navy Magrit clutch with its pointed curve flap is perfect for evening and the classic Nina Ricci courts nicely finish off the whole. The final touch of polish is hair smoothed back into a ponytail. Letizia is so right to have avoided any jewellery which could never have competed with this much sparkle, going no further than simple pale stud earrings. The outfit is a winner for a concert marking 50 years of cancer research.
