The King and Queen of Spain received the Men's National Handball Team at Zarzuela Palace on Tuesday.
The Spanish men's team were declared back to back European champions, after beating Croatia 22-20 at the European final in Stockholm on Sunday. The team have also qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Queen Letizia premiered a black CH Carolina Herrera polka dot cache-cœur dress for the occasion.
She teamed the midi wrap dress with her black Steve Madden 'Dominique' over-the-knee suede boots.
Letizia finished the look with her gold bamboo design huggie hoop earrings.

This is a very beautiful, elegant and feminine dress. I especially like the tie belt around the waist in the same fabric as the dress that is highlighted with movement. The black/white polka dots are very striking but since they are small in size they are not too overwhelming. The boots are a good choice since the dress is a longer length.

Love the dress. Polka dots are always fresh and snappy looking and the dress fits perfectly on Letizia. I'm not sure about the boots. They coordinate well, but somehow over the knee boots always look restrictive and uncomfortable to me. I would have teamed this dress with a red leather shoe.

Hi. Saw a comment about the over the knee boots and I thought I’d share my experience with them. They are not a common style and I was torn over whether I should purchase a pair, but I did and I ended up loving them. Mine are grey Vince Camuto and they have a 3 1/2 inch heel. They are a tight fit on my leg, but rather than feeling restricted they actually support my leg, ankle and foot. They are are like knee braces. Despite the high (for me) heel I feel like I could go hiking in them they are so comfortable. I don’t know if all of the over the knee boots feel like this but I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another pair.

Thanks for the info, Becka. I was the one wondering about the comfort of over the knee boots. Good to know they work so well.

This black and white dress is an attractive and versatile addition to Queen Letizia's wardrobe. With a change in belt, bold coloured shoes, the addition of a small necklace and an upswept hairdo, voila, Letizia has a new look. I would wear a dress like this myself and she looks far better in it than I would.

This is a beautiful dress, polka dots are so refreshing and interesting . Very feminine, but smart looking dress at the same time. Love the length, and folds of the skirt as she walked. Boots work in well, but I can imagine a pair of red shoes, divine. Hair so shiny and natural, makeup as usual on point.

This is a lovely dress, with subtle details that create a feminine and considered design. A flattering silhouette is achieved with the ballerina-inspired wrap front. I believe the skirt may have been cut on the bias, which allows the wearers figure to be showcased, the body of fabric gains fullness from the mid-thigh down, leaving the waist and hip area gather free. I imagine the smooth jersey moves beautifully during motion and feels easy to wear. Fit is perfect and the heavy midi length elegant. I may be wrong, but I think the bodice is a fixed wrap style, that disappears into a waist or side seam line, keeping the presentation of the skirt neat and streamlined. Black boots look chic and wintry, they also add height to the ensemble where the line isn't broken between the dress and footwear.
