Queen Letizia donned a dark blue draped-neck ribbed wool dress by COS - a brand we have not seen her wear before. COS is a British-Swedish fashion label with a modern, functional, considered design. The brand creates understated pieces that are made to last beyond the season.

The COS Draped-neck Ribbed Wool Dress (US$175) is a long style shaped with a draped asymmetric neck. The dress is made from fine-knit wool with a ribbed pattern that travels in contrasting directions.

This look is somewhat severe for an awards celebration but of course, Letizia looks great, although quite covered up. One thing I don't like about the dress is the asymmetrical neckline. I quite like necklines that are truly asymmetrical, but this one is only slightly so. It makes it look wonky, like someone made a mistake in the sewing of the garment.

I have to respectfully disagree with you Laura. The neckline is what I love so much about this dress and it's so très chic.

@Milly I couldn't agrre more. The neckline and the belt are the high points here. Amazing look.

Yes, I totally agree Laura. The neckline does look like an error occurred during the production of the garment.

This outfit is divine. I prefer the dress with the belt (the perfect choice), it changes the whole effect, combined with the boots, stunning overall. The dress looks fairly nondescript but once the accessories are combined, you have a superb finish. Navy in colour is more preferable to me than black, which is what I thought the colour was at first glance. The Outline of this dress show the Queens splendid posture. The unusual draped asymmetric neckline and slight ribbing pattern that contrasts, gives this garment a diverse and innovative finish, as with the sleeves, they fall nicely with that bit extra length , which I love. I don't remember seeing the aqua and diamond hoops before, beautiful pieces. This outfit would be a great addition (in my wardrobe) simple, minimum fuss to put together, you are left with a elegant finish.

Yes, sadly I believe it's sold out :( I think it may have been from the FW 2019 line.

All black from neck to toe is dull and boring IMHO. Letizia looks like she is going to a funeral rather than an award ceremony. The belt was a wise addition but the dress could have been accessorized further with some fabulous jewelry to brighten it up. This is the first time I have seen an asymmetric neckline. I don't think I like it because it looks messy and lopsided.

Sandy, the website below shows several dresses with asymmetrical necklines. They are much more exaggerated than this dress worn by Letizia. These I like. As you and I have observed, the very minimal change to the neckline on Letizia's dress, is so slight it looks like a mistake...at least to my eye and yours also.

Thanks for the link, Laura. The designs of the necklines on those dresses are more pronounced and intrinsic to the style. I really like them!

Small correction - the dress is NAVY not black.

The COS sheath is just perfect and so affordable and simply terrific with those SM boots. I love the asymmetric and draped neck, such subtle touches that bring variety and interest to a businessslike garment . The angled front seaming is equally well handled, and I like the side draping though we lose it under the Burberry belt Letizia, I think she's right to use a belt that completely covers the feature rather something slimmer which would look like a clumsy half-way house. I love the long romantically fluted sleeves too, they add another interesting feature without being excessive. The whole bears up well against superb Bvlgari earrings

A beautiful and cosy-looking wool dress from COS- I love the asymmetrical neckline detail and the slim fit. The waist belt is a nice detail as well. I have a navy wool dress in my closet so I'm going to copy this outfit:) Letizia seems determined to wear her OTN boots in professional settings by pairing them with midi-length skirts so that we never get a bit of leg, which is how fashion bloggers wear them. That would be inappropriate for her to do. However, I hope she does wear them that way in private! I continue to admire QL's sense of adventure and fun with fashion. She is a true inspiration!

I love the aesthetic of Cos, they reinvent timeless staples, with clean design the focus of the brand. The Queen looks fantastic! this is a well-chosen piece from the high street that appears high end. A beautifully simple dress that is quietly alluring as it glides over her figure, with the asymmetrical neckline revealing a snippet of skin. The soft drape of the fabric and lose cut of the arms add a wintry note. Vertical and horizontal ribbing is separated by the innovative seam line. It starts where the collarbone meets the shoulder and gently sways to the center front, providing subtle interest to the sleek silhouette. Navy and black are a sophisticated colour combination, the streamlined boots bring opulence and the wide belt defines the waist. Stunning aquamarine hoops are bright and substantial enough to help lift the look while elegantly marrying with the trimmings on the belt. This is a very stylish ensemble that will potentially be in my top 10 outfits of 2020.

This is definitely my favourite look of the year so far, and with 10.5 months left of 2020, there's a high chance this will also make my top 10 :)
