In my eyes this outfit is a miss. I think it is supposed to be edgy and modern but that concept is totally lost on me. The shoulder detail looks like a cross between a matador and a linebacker in American football. It makes Letizia's shoulders look as wide as the men's, in the group photo. I don't care for cropped pants, other than in a casual summer setting. I do like the pewter shoes, that are likely very versatile.

Elizabeth, the trousers are not these ones with other belt?? I wonder..

The shoes are what she wore to Sofia's first communion and only another time:

Hi Wendy, I too initially thought they were the Hugo Boss trousers she wore for visit to Alicante but I noticed the belt loops are in different positions.

In regards to the shoes, I forgot to add "repeat" (oops!).

The design of this sweater with the black and white ruffles is original and striking. I appreciate the way the ruffles widen the shoulders and accentuate her narrow waist. I like it because it's different and I appreciate unique styles. I must say, Letizia is constantly surprising us this year by wearing some unusual items. Following her fashion is never boring. I have one small complaint about the silver shoes. I would have preferred the cropped pants be paired with boots. They help elongate the leg and are appropriate now that the weather is cooler.

Big miss for me. Those things on her shoulders look like thunder bolts.

So, I kinda like this outfit. It's just cool. The sweater reminds me of the 80s and is interesting. The pewter pumps with the black and white and the dark hair looks so wonderfully wintery and chic. It looks like something I'd throw together for work. Not overwrought and that's what appeals to me. I don't actually like the pants but this makes the whole outfit relatable to me - often I don't have just what I would want so I wear something that will work and off I go.

I'm getting 80's vibes from this sweater which I don't like, but Letizia looks lovely all the same.

This is a miss for me. The blacks don't match which makes the look thrown together. The pants length and width are unflattering, cutting her off and making her look short. The sweater would look great with jeans for casual or even a white skirt for dressy, but this one isn't good. The shoes just don't work at all. They relate to nothing else in the outfit and just seem like a last minute, jump into the closet and put on some shoes kind of thing. Even some boot, long enough to be under the pant leg, would be better and give a more complementary line.

That's very observant of you, Vickie. I didn't even notice there were two shades of black in this outfit. It can be frustrating matching certain neutrals like black & navy. Manufacturers have different dye lots which vary widely. Even the same brands carry different shades of black making it very difficult for the consumer.

I think it is a very Abba style and festive for these days, the brand has said it is sold out.

This is a very on-trend item by Uterque with it's 80s inspired details - the white decoration is nicely echoed in the cuffs and collar. The ruffles and embroidery add volume to the shoulders while the neatly cropped trousers and crisp creases add formality to the look. Tucking the sweater into the waistband adds polish along with the placement of the double buckle belt. The pewter pumps are an unexpected choice that create interest in the bottom half of the outfit with the bare ankles breaking the solid black. Overall, this ensemble works, the styling is clean, garments fit perfectly and the monochrome is striking. Ideally, I think this sweater would have been more successful with other trend-led pieces, loose fit jeans / straight cut leather trousers, etc, which wouldn't have been suitable for this event. Letizia classically showcases a bold 'of the moment' piece, but I doubt this sweater will stand the test of time and will most likely be out of fashion next year, unlike the Uterque houndstooth blazer worn in November which I imagine will date well - if necessary the crystal buttons can be replaced for a more timeless look.

I think it is a festivity piece for the Christmas and she probably will wear it in private. Every now and then she dons outfits of her "private life".

I really like this sweater. It is so unusual, different and eye catching. The embroidery and flounces add interest, the craftmanship is superb. Little details such as the contrasting piping on the cuffs and collar polish this garment off perfectly. The back view on the model is so striking. Maybe a different choice of pants. I loved the contrasting shoes.

I'm afraid I was unable to get on board with this Uterque jumper, it makes me think too much of Star Wars. The crop pants have slightly too wide legs which throws the look off-balance and I'm not sure that the silver/pewter Magrit courts quite fit in either. I do at least like the neat Fanilia clutch. So my apologies to the Queen of Spain who continues to radiate elegance no matter what she wears or what my opinion of it is!

I thought of those too, but these new pants don't have the dart detail at the waist.
