Queen Letizia enjoyed a night out with her two daughters Leonor and Sofia, and mother-in-law Queen Sofia during their summer holidays in Mallorca. The royal ladies were seen leaving the Beatnik restaurant in Palma on Sunday evening.

I'm sorry but this dress looks ridiculous on Letizia. For a woman in the 50 year old range, the length is so juvenile looking and not appropriate for a Queen. Add ten inches to the hemline, and it might be okay.

I'm afraid I reeled back with much the same thoughts on first seeing this. I'm trying to think forgiving thoughts about the angle of the photo, presumably tilted to give leg-lengthening effect, plus remember that in a holiday town plenty of others will have donned some rather assorted relaxed outfits for a holiday evening out, and this may not look so out of place. But I do regret how I've seen some mothers go through a phase of trying to wear the same styles as their teenage daughters.

That "odd" rule about 50 years old and length must be in other countries, in Spain everybody can wear it, I am 53 myself and can show my arms, legs, etc...on the beach "top less"..It is Mallorca a hippie place, Queen Sofía used to appear in a bikini on a yacht in the media. They are on holiday, also.

Well, at least I now know where that pink Mallorca Ikat wallet fits in, and I still like it very much. But I'm unable to support the look of Letizia in such a short shirtdress, on both her and her daughter the style looks out of proportion with a mini skirt, the long sleeves add too much weight on the top.

Queen Sofia continues to embrace elegance with a full-length outfit and interesting prints. But by far my favourite of the assorted party looks belongs to Sofia who has mastered a mini length with the two-piece look of her cut-out Zara dress and its shorter sleeves. The ecru colouring is summery with class.

I love that Letizia is embracing the holiday vibe and I bet she doesn't look out of place in this resort town. I think she should be allowed to have a little fun with her style while on vacation, and she pulls it off IMO.

Millie and Simone,
Mallorca may be a hippie place, but Letizia is not a hippy. I don't want to come across as prudish, but one expects a certain dignity from those representing the royalty in their country. I note in the first photo, there are two women in the background, who are wearing a more appropriate length. So the fun holiday vibe of Mallorca is not embraced by everyone.

I appreciate the style of this dress, but I personally feel if one was at the beach, yes perfect. I must be old fashioned, I am unable to like this look. I will leave it at that. Queen Sofia looks fabulous, elegant and well groomed.

Letizia has great legs and I guess she wanted to show them off but this is a horrible looking dress. It's more suitable for a child.

It is great to see Letizia kicking back and enjoying the summer. There are few opportunities left for her to wear matching outfits and generally do events with the girls before they establish friend ships that will take them to other places to visit instead of having to stay with the parents and abuela. Many onlookers make up 'queen rules' to fit with their mental image of a queen. .
Even the ancient queens had periods of down time, away from the brocade and pearls.
