Queen Letizia was again today at the Royal Palace of Madrid where she presided over the commemorative event for the 40th anniversary of The Public State Employment Service (SEPE - Servicio Público de Empleo Estatal: previous National Employment Institute).
Following the ceremony, Her Majesty visited the exhibitors of different National Heritage Workshop Schools and learned about the work of the students in crafts such as saddlery, binding, furniture and construction, and gardening.
For this event, the Spanish queen recycled her Carolina Herrera stone double-face wool coat.
Underneath it, she wore a white blouse (possibly her Hugo Boss 'Banika' pussycat bow blouse - first worn at the 2015 National Awards for Innovation and Design), and a new pair of taupe trousers with a tonal check pattern (unidentified).
Letizia complemented the look with familiar camel hued pieces; the Carolina Herrera Camelot color block handbag, and Hugo Boss camel leather block heel pumps.

Do you know when has she worn the coat before? It's driving me crazy but I can't remember it ;)

I love this blog. I can understand why Elizabeth was tired after covering another royal tour and how she might have doubted whether to continue with this blog. But this one is worth it. Queen Letizia has great style. I don't like every ensemble but it's always interesting to see what she is wearing and how she is styling it. More than any other royal woman, I think this queen has style and is an inspiration for many of us. I'm delighted this blog continues and hope that you will have the support needed to continue it for a long time to come.

Thanks for your understanding Geneviève. Yes I was overwhelmed (and still am LOL) but the wonderful encouragement I received and support from my new contributor Alessandra has made a world of difference and motivated me to keep going :)

Hi, I thought her style was boring at first. All the royal ladies have there own style. For me Letizia is sometimes a miss and her clothes is very much more working woman style, where Kate is very bright and more girly. Meghan is more modern with clean lines. Interesting to watch. They all does not get it exactly right sometimes with their outfits, can think of a few examples. But mostly they look stunning. I love her hair this way.

In fact Letizia is working she's the First Lady, she earns a salary every month for every engagement, nothing to do with Kate and Meghan. 134.000 euros per year, it is totally public.

Letizia’s is so elegant and professional here. We can all incorporate this theme into or our own lives. Thank to so much Elizabeth for continuing my favorite blog!

I thought the block heel helped give a strength to underpin all the fabric neutrals, and is just right with those pants. As you say, leg length is critical to success, and I prefer this to any of those fashions which call for trouser hems which drag on the floor.

Thank you Elizabeth for reconsidering and continuing with this blog. As others have said, this queen has style, and manages to present elegant and sophisticated looks on a fraction of the budget available to others. Even the simplest outfit comes with a bit of pizzazz that is exclusive to her. Today the way the belt of the coat is knotted allows perfect symmetry in the contrasting colour from lapels to hem....and all for a good cause. These artisans (creatives like herself) need all the exposure they can get. ...The tour of the Wales showed a dizzying array of outfits. I could not keep up,. No wonder the exhaustion. There are too many blogs that trash this lady for the silliest of reasons. This is a welcome change....Paging Bertie...

Who, me? Sorry, I was called away on urgent going-out-to-eat-dinner duties so have been slow to get to this one!! Not sure who you think is being trashed, but let's just say cheap public denigration of any working royal is a no-no with me.I'm glad I don't see such things about Letizia though our Spanish friends here sometimes refer to it. She's doing such a brilliant job and I'm learning from her all the time.

I applaud the Queens work ethic, it's been such a busy week! with no doubt lots of behind the scenes preparations for the state visit.

The CH coat looks great especially with the contrasting lapels and belt. Contrasting colours that compliment one another always are dramatic and add interest to any outfit. And the butterscotch purse and shoes pull the whole outfit together.

Thank you again, Elizabeth and Alessandra, for keeping the blog open. This last week has been a prime example of why I really like Letizia. She moves so easily from day-time business attire, to lovely dinner attire, to state dressing. This past week, to me, has personified Letizia - clean lines, interesting details up close, professional, everything superbly tailored, just lovely.

Totally agree w/ you Holly - this outfit is (seemingly) simple and relatable to us working ladies; good to see how she mixes it up. I certainly enjoy the more glamorous looks but its her quotidian style that truly inspires!

This is exactly the kind of wearable, regal look that I love about Letizia! A mix of coordinating neutrals with a soft leather handbag and a cosy winter coat. I will copy this one for sure!

I've got a feeling that this outfit ought somehow not to work, but then it does. Maybe i'm felling extra mellow at the narrow escape we had from seeing this lovely blog close! I think there could be a touch of overkill in Letizia opting for a collar bow on top of the coat tie belt, but the Herrera coat sits so nicely and its two-tones contrast so gently that it all kind of hangs together. With so many beige tones it could all fade to dullness, but the subtle contrast of the trouser check is perfectly judged to give a more solid base to all the neutrals. The Herrera/ Boss accessories are spot on too, for their touch of a stronger tan to point up the whole
