I love the way Letizia teamed this dress with red accessories. It really adds a punch of colour. This is one of my favorite dresses. I have one that is very similar. That reminds me, I need to shorten it so I can wear it before the warm weather ends.

Great look for Letizia today. A rather simple, denim dress is brightened with the red accessories. I would have loved to see a red, flat shoe with this outfit. Good choice of earrings, that are uncomplicated, but are not insignificant.

I love these scarlet slingbacks! When combined with the right ensemble they look truly fabulous. That being said, for today's event, I would have preferred the navy pair and a sleek tan clutch. I find the red a little contrived. I appreciate that the shoes/clutch add a burst of colour and differentiate the look from its appearance, but I think the navy appeared more sophisticated back in April. This denim dress feels classically Carolina Herrera with it's uptown New York air. It's luxurious but relaxed, and has an innate elegance with it's flared skirt and cinched in waist. Even the sleeves are a ladylike length and the crisp denim fabric adds flight and structure. Generally, I don't not mind the mixing of gold and silver jewellery (especially with wedding bands and other permanent pieces), but when wearing only one to two statement items like Letizia often does, I favor them to match so the chunky gold hoops work perfectly with the Karen Hallam ring and really stand out against the dark tones.

That's a good point about the minimal gold pieces matching to effect, the earrings certainly really stand out. I agree that the red contrast is a shade corny, but it woke the outfit up for me for day-wear, whereas the dark colours were worn at night, when red might not have shown up. And the fabric certainly has a good hang, but isn't that down to it being more of a chambray than a crisp denim? I'd have thought the latter was too stiff for a garment like this, but then I may be thinking of jeans-density denim!

Hi Bertie, well spotted! With the soft gathers at the waist, I'm inclined to agree. Without seeing chambray in person, I find it very difficult to distinguish from denim. The excellent weight of this fabric makes it all the harder to tell. This dress is very nicely done by Carolina Herrera. I just couldn't stop referring to the look book photo with the navy pumps, they are so complimentary. Whatever accessories Letizia had worn, I would always have reverted back to that image.

This dress is actually denim. It looks like a high twist mercerized denim thread that has a sheen in fabric form more like polished cotton. It is indeed classic CH. Ladylike length, and voluminous without being overdone. The red may look corny but the primary colors pop at daytime events, and the audience is young people who tend to see color before quality, or stylistic details.

This is such a perfect shirtwaister, one of my favourites, the fit, the fabric, and the styling really gel in a way the previous Zara tweed failed to do for me.I like the well-fitted bodice with its neat short sleeves fitting snug into a wide belt, which itself is just right for setting off a very full flared skirt with interesting seam details. I love the switch up to red accessories for a day event, and I think it was clever to pick a snakeskin clutch for texture against monochrome fabric. Adore those fabulous gold hoops.

This Maysaa clutch is one of my favorite items that Letizia owns, definitely in the top five! I love the pop of red against the blue denim. I wonder about the Karen Hallam ring- am I right that she has worn it every day for many months except for evening wear? There must be some story behind it...

Nobody knows exactly but it seems it might be a Leonor's and Sofia's gift.

Asya, I agree that the Maysaa clutch is wonderful. There is another clutch that Letizia owns that I also love. I don't think she has used it in public since 2015. It is a burgundy colour and has leather flowers all over it that are 3-D. Letizia used it without the strap. It can be found here:

I love this dress, it is the perfect length, a simple dress but the Queen makes it look so stylish, the fit of the bodice and tucked sleeves finishes it off nicely. Love the gold hoop earrings, something a tad different for her. The red sling back pumps are gorgeous, combined with the bag, the effect is fantastic. Love it!

I have another thought on this CH navy denim dress:

If I had to choose, which one do I like better?

this CH dress worn by QL or the CH dress worn by Meghan to the polo match (July 26, 2018)

I honestly can't answer that. I like them both. CH did an amazing job on both denim dresses. And, QL wore hers beautifully. And, MM wore hers beautifully also.

Perhaps, one thing I would change is the QL dress minus the seam below the belt. That throws me off a little.

MM's dress cost 2.200 euros, Letizia's 500.....you can't compare them...
