A terrific outfit, this pleated paper-bag style of pants continues to serve Letizia well. I thought at first this was a repeat of the Hugo Boss pants she wore to Gran Canaria, late September, but they were tapered, and these are wide leg. I think she's daring to try the wider leg given her petite frame, but she continues to manage it with grace and elegance.

I like the shape of the Hugo Boss top with its V-neck though it's a little odd to choose something with ribbed waist detail which gets mostly obscured, only leaving a confusing patch of texture showing above the belt which already has perforated texture. A minor detail, of course!

The new Dalia pumps are a savvy pick, the two-tone style chimes so well with the main outfit and gives welcome interest to monochrome, likewise the cleverly matched Dominguez bi-colour clutch. Letizia combines effortless and smart with off-beat and a touch of informality to perfection. She is the queen of style!!

Bertie, are you sure the pants are "paper bag"? I thought those pants had ruffled waistbands and/or ties around the waist. These look like a classic style. I agree with you that the ribbing on the sweater looks a bit odd tucked into the pants.

Looks like I blew it on that one, Sandy, thanks for pointing it out 😄 I'd got it into my head that the trousers extended further over the top of the belt. I probably meant I think Letizia is coping well with a full pleated front on trousers, which on a wee tub of lard like me looks disastrous!

Agree with what you say Bertie, about the ribbing of the top showing above the belt. Shoes and purse coordinate well, but don't quite match each other. All in all I found this to be a rather boring look.

This outfit is so simple and elegant and looks great. It's nice to see some wide-legged pants for a change. The skinny pants have dominated for so long. I think these types of pants are more flattering to the female form. I also love how the purse and shoes incorporate the beige/black combination of the clothes.

Queen Letizia looks refined in sophisticated separates. Individually all of the pieces are quietly elegant, they have subtle details but do not draw attention to themselves. The trousers are influenced by menswear tailoring with the double front pleats, but there is a sense of femininity in their fluidity and the high waist gives the impression of height. Hugo Boss's v-neck in soft nude adds texture and delicacy with the long fine ribbed cuffs and waist band which tapers the relaxed fit (minor quibble, I would rather the ribbed waist hadn't peeked above the trouser waist line but this is a minuscule detail). The two tone pumps are inspired by a certain Saint Laurent pair, they completely lift the look and prevent the trousers from appearing heavy. An understated detail, but the black belt pulls the whole ensemble together, creating a considered and polished look.

I know this is a very 'simple' outfit. And, there lies the genius of it. It's the shoes. That SM shoe. That brings this sweater/pants combo to another level. To simply brilliant.

Btw, QL's 2018 outfit is one of my favs of hers. That raspberry coat with the black pants. So smart and sophisticated!

A fantastic outfit. The wide leg trousers are a perfect fit, she suits them so well. Absolutely love the Ferora v neck sweater, very pretty colour. The two tone shoes (love them!) and clutch, excellent choice. The crawler earrings I just love, she didn't need anything else. The second last photo with the sun shining on her face, her daytime makeup neutral colour is natural looking and so well done, just enough, applied perfectly, she looked beautiful.
