The piece is fashioned with a shawl collar and velvet trim at the wait and cuffs. Below is a look at the back of the coat. I will update the post if the designer is identified.

The hat is by Spanish milliner Isabel Terroso who trades under the label, BALEL.  It was a custom made design which the brand shared on their Instagram page.

This coat dress is very beautiful. The emerald colour is dignified and a refreshing change from black or navy that is usually worn at memorials. The shawl collar and the flaired skirt are classic sartorial features that look elegant and quite stunning. The small hat is subtle and does not overwhelm the outfit. I haven't see the British royal family's attire yet but I'm going to bet Letizia will be the best dressed woman at this event.

Beautiful coat dress, very elegant. But somehow the hair and the hat don't do it for me. She is such a beautiful lady, this hat does not highlight her features.

It's really nice that she wore Edinburgh green - HM, Camilla and Anne all wore his livery colour as tribute. The hat is nice, she doesn't often wear hats. A very appropriate look.

This green coat dress is divine. The shawl collar is very becoming and attractive. The flair of the skirt looks wonderful in motion. Love the cuffs and belt divide. The hat is pure 'chic' love it, suits her beautifully. The up do looks terrific. The black shoes and bag are the perfect choice. The air garden earrings are subtle and refined. Love the emerald stones.

I think you are right, Sandy. Letizia was the best dressed woman there! She looked absolutely fabulous in her velvet coat dress. It was nice to see the senior royals in Edinburgh green. The Duke would have been pleased.

Darla, I had an opportunity to see the other ladies and no one came close in terms of elegance and style. What set Letizia apart is that she did not overdo anything. Her outfit was very simple and classic. The rest were either too drab, too dull, too matronly or too much. Runners up were HM the Queen and Princess Anne who looked good too.

Queen Letizia looks devine in green and I think it's a color she should wear more often! She was certainly the best dressed royal, and I love everything about this coatdress.

Letizia looks lovely in a classic wrap-style coat, made elegant by a narrow shawl collar and excellent fit. It is most touching that she should pay tribute to the late Duke by wearing the Edinburgh green adopted by senior British royal ladies.

From the front the coat looks absolute perfection so it puzzles me greatly that the belt appears to have a clumsy fastening in the centre of the back, when I would expect it to fasten hidden at the front.

Accessories are perfect, the black is quietly subdued against the jewel-tone green, and I like that the Manalo Blahnik pumps have a snakeskin texture against the plain coat fabric. The Hugo Boss Bespoke T Handle M bag is the last word in elegance, as is the Isabel Terroso hat, complete with its softening touch of net decoration. Its tear-drop shape sits beautifully on Letizia's immaculate updo and the whole look is perfectly finished by the delightful gleam of emerald from the Gold and Roses Air Garden earrings.

Some of the service's best-dressed included: Catherine DofC, who was stylish in polka dots and a braided boater; Q Máxima, who looked regal in a sleek cape and large black pearls; and Q Letizia, whose green coat dress was divine!

Overall, I have a few minor quibbles with Queen Letizia's ensemble. I dislike the ornamental hat, and the Gold & Roses earrings are so dainty they can barely be seen. Hats flatter Letizia - see 20/10/12 Luxembourg wedding & 30/04/13 Dutch inauguration. Ideally, I would have preferred a pillbox hat, or a saucer-brim hat (a smaller felt version of the iconic 'Chapeau du Martin' worn in Breakfast at Tiffany's minus the silk scarf). In addition, Her pearl & diamond studs (24/10/15), or diamond wedding earrings would have complemented the classical drama of the coat dress. I adore refined simplicity, but more often than not, I find Letizia's styling too austere. This frequently results in outfits appearing incomplete.

The coat dress is similar to Letizia's grey wrap dress (22/04/21), I presume that both pieces may have been created by the same designer. The glorious 'forest green' is elevated by sumptuous velvet trims around the cuffs and waistband (it was wise of the designer to show restraint and leave the shawl collar bare). The tailoring is impeccable; I adore the slim cut sleeves-, and soft pleats which neatly stem from the bust & back bodice darts. Photograph 4 highlights the elegance of the coat dress during motion, a credit to the chosen fabric, which is fully lined. To conclude, this ensemble could have been perfect with a few tweaks. As a whole, I was reminded of Letizia's 2015-17 wardrobe when she regularly wore beautifully fitting garments in quality fabrics.

To Admin: This green dress, with its back-closure belt and everything else, is terribly terribly similar as the one of Kate's Emilia Wickstead blue one (which she just wore again for the Easter service)... Might be worth dropping an email to the designer ...
