For her final public engagement of 2017, the Queen of Spain attended a meeting with the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in Madrid.

As Honorary President of the association, Queen Letizia's role is to bring public attention to the subject of cancer research, and campaign for more resources. The AECC also works to improve the conditions for cancer patients and their relatives during treatment.

Queen Letizia arrived at the charity's headquarters looking festive in head-to-toe red.

She wrapped up warm in her red Hugo Boss 'Catifa' coat from the German brand's Resort 2016 collection.

Poking from the hem of her coat was a bold printed skirt of cream with red petal print which Letizia paired with her black Hugo Boss 'Famaurie' polo neck wool sweater. The skirt is reportedly by Carolina Herrera but I'm yet to find a stock photo of it.

The look was coordinated with red suede over-the-knee boots by Magrit, the brand's 'Francesca' model (US$688).

Letizia carried a new pair of sunglasses. They are the Hugo Boss cateye sunglasses with metal arms - Style BOSS 0892/S0S757HD - 58057643. The navy frame shades retail for £155 and are currently available at Hugo Boss and Farfetch.

She then finished off with her Zara laser cut leather crossbody bag and Yanes sunburst white gold and diamond earrings.

En España el rojo no es el color relacionado con la Navidad porque no hay Santa Claus, son los Reyes Magos el 6 de Enero. Va de rojo por la elecciones catalanas, representando al estado español. Probablemente no lo publicarás, pero ese el tema.

I like the outfit except it is too monochromatic- too much red.
Since she wore a black turtleneck I would have worn black boots and chosen a black purse. The red coat would stand out more and the overall look would be more interesting. But I love the coat it is a very unusual style.

I agree that this is a lot or red. Black boots would have looked better. That said, these boots are quite spectacular. Even a black skirt would have broken up the overall red a bit.

I really like each piece of this outfit, just not sure if I would have styled it this way. Something seems off...there is a lot of red. Seems out of balance. The coat is really pretty and the boots are darling. Maybe we’ll see a new way of coordinating these cute items in the future. Merry Christmas to everyone!! 🎄🎁

Wow, she looks incredible. It's great that she went with the red boot instead of playing it safe with black. So chic!

Wow - Letizia really rocks over-the-knee boots. I love how the skirt pattern breaks up the uniform red. Seems there's an awful lot of folk determined to wear tie-belt coats at the moment. I don't like tie-belt anything, it can never hang well, knots are either too tight or work loose. 8It's worst in heavy winter coat fabric but we're spared any side views here - no amount of clever knotting can prevent an ugly bulge at the front. From the front all looks ok. A hot look from Letizia

Omg Letizia looks amazing. I hate the bag though. The boots are amazing.

Spanish websites are saying the skirt is by C. Herrera...

Hello Elisabeth. A new year is coming so I would like to share a Aldous Huxley thought: "There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self." May it be possible in every aspect of our lives. Kisses
