Congratulations on an epic win in a popular sport, I'm so glad you are proud!! And how good to see Letizia's careful and studied choice of outfit match the occasion and maintain national pride. It helps so much to have a monarchy to perform these ceremonies which could impede a government official from more important business.

This dress is gorgeous due to the intricate paneling in the skirt which allows it to move and flare when in motion. This is an example of exquisite tailoring. I don't usually like obvious zippers in dresses but this one is subtle so it works with the overall design and makes it easier to put on and take off.

My goodness, Letizia is getting busy for the autumn. This is another stand-out fit-and-flare dress from her, with the added touch of an edgy full-length zip down the front, and in a colour which fortunately suits her so well. The sewn-down pleats are expertly tailored to be both full yet subtle as they flare out softly.

The matching Herrera slingbacks do great service once more, a classic style executed with flair. The Aldao Joyeros ruby cabochon earrings are just Wow! and the perfect finishing touch to take this from a workday outfit to something regal enough to greet a world-winning team and help make her country proud to have such a hard-working and appropriately-turned out Queen.

I like this red dress with the exception of the black zipper down the centre. To me exposed, differently coloured zippers say, "casual" which is fine if that is the look you are going for. But given the very dressy sling back shoes and beautiful earrings, the rest of the look is far from casual.

Congratulations Spain!

I'm sorry to say that I am a little disappointed with this custom piece. Carolina Herrera has had some beautiful creations within their collections this year, by comparison I find this rather dull. This isn't the first bespoke dress by the brand that has left me wondering why one of the runway pieces wasn't adapted. I appreciate that the brief was to create something simple and patriotic but I find the dress to be a mix of styles that don't seamlessly gel. I particularly dislike the zip and don't like to see it used as a design feature on garments such as this, I wish the designer had chosen ladylike or contemporary and not tried to be both. I find the fitted bodice and pleated skirt uninspired and similar to other dresses she owns. There are some flattering features, the colour is gorgeous, the fit perfect and length graceful. The matching scarlet slingbacks are fabulous! All monochrome can look regal which is the effect here, overall Letizia looks polished and perfectly attired for the event. I just want to see a Carolina Herrera that could be quietly elegant or dramatic that makes me stand up and go wow!

Love the sideview of this dress in the 3rd pic of it in motion. Lovely. The zipper placement is odd but it works for me. Dress is perfect with the slingback pumps.
