King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, along with family and friends, gathered at the Castrense Cathedral in Madrid to attend the Funeral Mass of His Majesty's cousin, Fernando Gomez-Acebo y de Borbon.

Queen Letizia appeared somber in a black tweed midi dress, a garment previously unseen on her. The dress showcases an A-line silhouette with 3/4 sleeves, adorned with frayed detailing at the waist, cuffs, and skirt.

Adorning her chest was a familiar diamond and pearl brooch, a cherished Spanish royal heirloom. The intricate design features a large round pearl encircled by 12 diamonds, with a teardrop pearl pendant gracefully suspended from a single diamond.

Letizia carried her Giorgio Armani La Charniere Doree Top Handle Bag and on her feet were Massimo Dutti Kitten Heel Slingback Pumps.

I like the unusual fringe details on the sleeves, waist and hips of this otherwise conservative dress. And it's refreshing to see Letizia wearing a brooch for a change. It really uplifts the overall outfit. All black can be a dull and boring. I know it's a funeral but a little bit of bling doesn't detract from the sombreness of the occasion.

I think the women should have worn hats, like the Brits do, to a funeral. It looks more polished.

The Queen looks elegant and appropriate for this occasion. It is good to see her wearing that spectacular brooch, as Letizia seldom wears any jewellery on her dresses. I would have preferred a small, pearl, stud earring to go with the brooch. Shoes and purse are on point.

A sober and elegant dress for the funeral, I like the long lean A-line and the gentle texture break of frayed detailing. The length looks well with the Massimo Dutti kitten heels.

It is clearly the perfect setting for the gorgeous Spanish heirloom pendant pearl and diamond brooch. The Georgio Armani is quietly sleek and elegant in perfect keeping with the rest.

The frayed embellishment brings this black dress to life and I love it. The beautiful diamond and pearl brooch was the perfect addition. The diamond stud earrings were the right choice, just enough. The black bag and shoes look good.
