The Queen of Spain welcomed audiences at the Palace of Zarzuela today. She first meet with representatives of the Royal Academy of Engineering, followed by an audience with delegates from the ASPAYM Castilla y León Foundation.
Queen Letizia looked smart and professional in her signature tailored style.
Her Majesty wore a tweed peplum top which we first saw in November 2016 at the Spanish Episcopal Conference. She went on to wear the piece a couple more times during the winter season.
Unfortunately, the brand/designer of the top is still unknown.
Letizia teamed it with a new pair of black trousers today. They are the Hugo Boss BOSS 'Tipulida' Stretch Wool Suit Pants (US$325) featuring a slim-leg, cuffed hems and a button-detailed tab at the waist.
She added some height with her CH Carolina Herrera black suede pointed toe pumps.

The shirt was IDed as Uterqüe by the Daily Mail. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-4047844/Queen-tweed-Letiza-adds-twist-favourite-plum-suit-attends-drugs-charity-meeting-Madrid.html

DM made up that ID. They get things wrong all the time and never check their facts.

Here it's said that might be a bespoke item by her private seamstress....

I love tweed as it's such a classic look. This item is one of my favorites especially when Letizia wore it with the plum skirt. I wonder how it she gets into it. Are there buttons at the back or a zipper? Or is it a pullover like a sweater? Not sure if it is a jacket or what as it is very tight and fitted close to the body.

That would be very difficult to fasten. She must have to get someone to help her. Actually buttons would be hard to do up as well.

Sandy, she HAS a lot of people to help her ...The same as a dress, I can perfect do it myself, the zipper ends up at the midline of the back. I must say that both her and I practice yoga...ha!!!

Yes zippers at the back are a pain! I recently bought a jumpsuit with a zipper in the back and every time I go to the toilet in a public place I have to ask someone to zip it up LOL. I can only get the zip to the midway point haha

Stretch pants? I can hardly believe it, the uber-chic Letizia is toying with leggings, albeit at the most tailored level she can access. Her outfit looks sensational, I simply love that tweed top, so versatile with warm and cool colours in the weave, I could see that one going on for years! She has everything so perfectly judged, the length of the pants, the length of the top to just short of the hips, the elegant simplicity of those courts. A perfect working outfit and beautiful at the same time.

Bertie, yes I know what you mean about the tweed. The multi colours can go with a number of different colours. In fact this outfit recently inspired me to buy a tweed Karl Lagerfeld jacket - that has purple, plum, dk blue, light blue, pink and teal all interwowen together. I also found a plum skirt like Leti's (only mine didn't cost $400) and I can't wait to wear it.

I keep a weather-eye open for the warm/cool colour mix patterns, it makes the daily workers wardrobe so much easier. Hope u enjoy the UK jacket :)

Hi Elizabeth, you do such a great job with all your blogs. Thank you! Have you considered doing one for Queen Rania? Or do you know of a good one? I have long been a fan of hers, but I've yet to find adequate coverage of her wardrobe.

Thank you for your kind words Kajo! If there were more hours in the day then I would love to also cover Queen Rania but unfortunately I sometimes struggle to keep up with the current blogs! I'm not sure I've ever come across a blog that adequately covers her style. I will let you know if I do x

Elizabeth, I agree you are doing a fabulous job. I would like to add to Kajo's suggestion that you try and cover Melania Trump. She has some really interesting outfits. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
