The Queen of Spain chaired a telematic debate 'Commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the Istanbul Convention', at America House in Madrid.
The occasion marks the 10th anniversary of the 'Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence', better known as the 'Istanbul Convention' which is intended to reinforce Spain's position as one of the leaders in the international sphere in the fight against gender violence, in coherence with national policies and instruments, as well as the international commitments assumed.
The meeting reinforces the value of the 'Istanbul Convention' as the most advanced international instrument on the matter within Spain and to publicise its content and promote the ratification of the Convention and its value as an international instrument in the fight against violence against women and girls at the present time.

Hi Sandy, I'm surprised the mouse plague news has made it abroad. It's mainly localised regional farming areas on the east coast that have been impacted. The footage of the mice plague is truly disturbing.

Hi Sandy, I hope its okay to reply to you on this topic. I live rurally on a farm. The mice/rats are everywhere, currently the mice have got into our home. It is dreadful beyond words,. we are trying everything, to eradicate them, but they breed incredibly quickly. xx

Ava, I'm so very sorry to hear you have been impacted. City folk like me will never truly understand the challenges faced by those leaving in rural areas. I hope the government steps up to assist because I hear the cost of controlling the plague is costing farmers hundreds of thousands of dollars :(

Hi Ava, I was so sorry to read that you are affected by the mice plague, it sounds utterly awful! Wishing you, and your neighbours the very best of luck with implementing strategies and I hope the government steps in!

Hi Ava, I welcome your reply. I've seen footage of the mice and it's exactly like you describe. I'm so sorry and I hope they can get it under control. I heard the mice travel on trucks and will reach Sydney by August. A big city like that will be truly overwhelmed. I am very worried for the entire world- Covid 19, environmental disasters and now plagues. How much more will we have to endure?

Thank you Elizabeth. Currently we are facing a shortage of mouse/rat traps, baits etc.. Presently we are looking at natural therapies. Hopefully we might find these a little easier to source, but many people on rural properties are also resorting to the same. The damage inflicted is costing a huge amount, rodents eating through, wall cavities, electrical wiring, in the homes, living in the roof and wall cavities of homes (like mine) etc.. causing big problems, Electricians are being sourced. I hope your right yes, the government steps in sooner than later. With winter now upon us, the rodents apparently bunker down in there new found environment where it is warm/ food source and isolating. It will get worse before it gets better. Take care all.

My goodness Ava, it's worse than I thought. The damage caused is on the same scale of any natural disaster but I feel like the government is not doing enough in terms of support. Is there any way I can contribute? Do you know of any charities who are directly assisting farmers with the plaque?

Oh wow! that is so kind. Honestly I have no idea, we haven't had the time to even research such like. There may be a government website that is indicative of this. There could be charities assisting but nothing I have heard of yet. P.S implementing natural strategies for repellants, from tonight, wish us luck!

I love this outfit, the silk navy blouse is a nice change, and different. It looks sleek, simple but elegant. The skirt is a favorite of mine. The accessories are on point, great choices.

Letizia looks so svelte and accomplished here. I love that Hugo Boss pencil skirt and it is well styled with the navy Hugo Boss top and its asymmetric cap sleeves. The triangular cut creates useful tension against the plain lines of the skirt. adding a welcome touch of femininity and flair. Love the Herrera accessories.
