She teamed her beloved navy silk shirt with a new light blue high-waisted pencil skirt from Hugo Boss (US$348).  The midi-length skirt is crafted in Portuguese bonded micro fabric (100% polyester) and features a fabric belt with a covered buckle and metal eyelets at the high waist. Flattering dividing seams and a front slit at the right knee finishes the design.

Yay! I was hoping the Queen would buy this Hugo Boss skirt, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and Princess Sofia of Sweden also have it. This skirt is such a versatile staple, I look forward to seeing it teamed with different tops over the coming months. I love the cold blue colour, high belted waist and the side slit detail. This isn't the most exciting pairing of a blouse but Letizia looks elegant and very polished. As always the Bvlgari hoops are wonderful and the Magrit shoes/clutch set adds some interesting texture. The last few looks I haven't raved about but I really like this one, it's classic and well put together.

Thanks for the updates, I couldn't for the life of me remember who else had worn this skirt. I also wish I'd remembered the earrings were Bvlgari and the shoes/clutch were Magrit as I like to familiarise myself with Letizia's favourite brands. As ever, your posts set the standards round here, thank you!

Great simple combination of blue tones.
PS. Katherine, if you don't mind: In the 'Letizia's outfits' tab, for 2019, have 2x 'April 2019' ;).

This is a very simple and elegant outfit. I love the style & perfect length of the skirt especially the belt. The light blue colour is smartly contrasted with the dark blue shirt, shoes and purse. I'm surprised that Hugo Boss uses polyester and charges such a high price. I thought high end designers would use better quality fabric.

Synthetic fabrics have come a long way and can have such excellent drape and comfort factors that they more than match their natural counterparts. Those of us who were around when such things were first introduced may have experienced certain horrors and discomfort, but for high-end, those hazards are largely a thing of the past.

Bertie, I couldn't agree with you more. I personally prefer synthetic fabric to natural fibers because they are much easier to care for. In most cases you don't have to dry clean. Environmental concerns aside they have some superior qualities and can mimic natural fibers like silk to the point where you can't tell the difference. I even find that they 'breathe' in warm weather. I just didn't expect high end designers fo use polyester but as you said they have come a long way since the 1970's.

It came as a big surprise to me also when I discovered how comfy the synthetics are when from a reliable source.

This is gorgeous classic Letizia, this is the silhouette she does best with the pencil skirt. The shirt is sumptuous both in fabric and colour and the Boss skirt is just perfection in tailoring, that single knee slit is so savvy and charming. Love the croc style accessories, also gorgeous in colour, and her earrings are simply the tops. She looks relaxed, elegant and completely at home with her regal status.

This is a lovely outfit. A classic pencil skirt. The Queen looks elegant in this simple but classic look, you cannot go wrong with this. Her earrings are so pretty. Love her shoes and bag, shoes are gorgeous.
