Queen Letizia wore a new grey check dress by Massimo Dutti (€99.95).  The midi dress made of 100% wool with a belt detail features an A-line silhouette, a round neckline, front button fastening concealed by a placket and short sleeves.

Queen Letizia sure has been loving check prints lately! I'm a big fan of checks, but I don't particular like the cut of this dress. Perhaps if she removed the fabric belt and replaced it with a classic leather belt it would have looked more refined. Nonetheless, Letizia still looks lovely!

This dress is ultra-conservative both in style and colour but I still like it. Maybe it's because Letizia makes almost everything she wears look great even the colour grey. The check print is classic and I like the unique way she tied the belt. The black or navy (not sure) accessories make it an elegant look all around. But I must say it's about 180 degrees in the opposite direction of the cocktail dress she wore on Dec. 5.

Her hair looks perfect especially in the 4th picture. Dress is ok.

I agree with Royal Watcher. The simple addition of a leather belt (preferably a fairly wide one) would have greatly enhanced the look. The addition of a leather belt would have still preserved the lines of the dress, including its elegant back view, but given it a crisper, more professional business look of the kind Letizia has been seen to favor. Everything else about the look is right on.

I agree that a leather belt could quite possibly transform my own view of this ensemble, good point!

The dress has some good elements but it is very boring. Everything would have been elevated if she had worn red shoes and purse, for a contrast and punch of colour.

I can't fault this Massimo Dutti for its businesslike front but I feel I have to question its attractiveness. The dress seems too large and loose on Letizia, maybe the longer hem isn't helping and despite the texture of the check pattern there's an impression of unrelieved grey. I think black accessories were too heavy. The one detail I happen to like are the little cuffs on the short sleeves, very neat, but otherwise I'm underwhelmed.

Still too much unrelieved grey for me, as I found the last time, and could have used some contrast accessories.
