It was a busy day for the Queen of Spain today. In the morning she attended the closing seminar of the 2nd International Congress: The Voice of the Rural Women.
She arrived at the Marriot Auditorium Hotel wearing her black Carolina Herrera A-Line Belted Coat.
Inside the auditorium she took off the coat to reveal a stunning scarf print dress by Sandro Paris.
Rendered in a lightweight twill with a satin-like finish, this green midi dress is patterned in a paisley print reminiscent of silk scarves. A wrap-style V-neckline flows into a pleated skirt, creating a silhouette that works perfectly for weekday wardrobes and weekend soirées. It retails for US$515 and is now on sale for US$360.50 at Sandro. It is also available at Harrods.
Letizia offset the patterned frock with solid black accessories including her Nina Ricci 'Arc' leather clutch, and her Prada Saffiano print patent leather pointy toe pumps.
She finished the look with her custom TOUS black diamond extra long string earrings.
Later that day, Queen Letizia joined King Felipe at the Teatro Real in Madrid for the 80th anniversary commemorations of the Spanish national daily sport newspaper, MARCA.

I believe the woman in red seated next to Letezia is...Carolina Herrera!

She does look a bit like Carolina Herrera :) The women seated next to Letizia is Carmen Quintanilla, a Spanish politician x

Wow. what an edgy look, Many of us would look comical in a dress with so much going on, but not Letizia. She is such a stunning woman, that she makes this dress her own. Accessories are understated and perfect to showcase this unusual dress.

That dress is so uniquely stunning. Only Letezia can wear a dress like this and not have the dress wear her. The earrings are a perfect compliment to the entire look.

This is a fabulous, chic, feminine dress and Letizia looks beautiful in it! Green is notoriously hard to complement, and I'm so glad she went for black accessories, rather than nude. I think I'm going to have to have a look at Sandro's website...

The dress is a bit busy and not something I could wear but I do like it on Letizia. The emerald green colour is beautiful and I like the originality of the print. If I could re-design it I would keep the print on the top and leave the pleated skirt plain green. But it's nice to see something unique and different once in a while. And, those heels look like they are at least 5" long!

This is a real WOW dress. You can't take your eyes off either the wearer or the dress itself. Queen Letizia delivers with aplomb. As others have siad, this is a difficult colour, print and design to wear but Letizia carries it off with true majesty.

I'm definitely having a bad week here as this is the third consecutive Letizia outfit that hasn't hit home with me, and I usually take more care to look for positives! I think the colour of the Sandro Paris print is gorgeous on Letizia but I'm foxed by the treatment of the pattern. It looks like a fabulous fabric, the bodice sits so well, and the skirt flows out beautifully from the waist in those scissor pleats. But I'm at a loss to know why the pattern would be given that peculiar drooping effect, it brings on a whole load of grunge to me and spoils the rest. Her accessories are great, the earrings gorgeous and the Herrera coat spot on -- so I can manage a few positives at least :)

Yes, I agree the earrings are spectacular. They are a very contemporary style I really love them.

I agree with Bertie - the drooping effect of the skirt patern is weird. Otherwise fabulous dress and accesories
