Each year a town or community is chosen in the Principality of Asturias to receive the award, a royal visit and €25,000 for their outstanding commitment to conservation, environmental and cultural heritage, which benefits economic and social development in the area.

The family met and greeted the citizens of Asiego as they toured the area. The village has a population of 98 people who Leonor, Princess of Asturias, addressed in her second speech in Asturias as they awarded the prize.

Queen Letizia was aptly dressed for the inclement weather in her navy Hugo Boss 'Cirala' coat and Uterque shiny perforated leather oxford shoes.

After so many formal events it's refreshing to see the Spanish royal family dressed down for a change (except poor Felipe). I am sure they are more comfortable. I love all of the ladies trench coats.

Thanks Wendy. It's nice to see the family during their downtime.

All monochrome often looks smart which is the effect here, a considered but casual look which is perfect for both weather and walking around Asiegu. I'm a huge fan of timeless staples which can be mixed and matched and worn time and time again, this outfit is an example of that. I have always thought of these Uterque brogues as a fun and trendy purchase, with their quirky take on the traditional style, but the thick tread has proved ideal for events like this. While acting as a statement piece to a casual outfit they are practical enough for multiple ground surfaces. Glossy hair, natural make up and simple diamond studs add further polish to the look. I agree with Sandy, after so many high profile ensembles over the last few days it is refreshing to see Letizia attired more informally.

Love the navy coat, perfect choice for the weather. The girls look great, their trench coats looked fantastic. I saw Princess Leonor's speech last week, she was outstanding.

Nothing much to comment about. Letizia is dressed appropriately and practically for the weather. Love seeing their daughters. What lovely, young ladies they are and how well they will grow up to respect the Monarchy in Spain.

Very attractive and appropriate outfit for the occasion and the weather, but I wish she would wear ankle boots or something similar. Those shoes make her look like she's standing in a hole. Granting that they are useful in bad conditions, I think boots/booties with similar soles would look so much better. The girls are lovely. I wonder if they had to get permission to miss school?

Yes, they missed school on Thursday and Friday, they are royals and need to serve their country as her father did.
Felipe gave his firts speech in Asturias too, as same age as Leonor, there you go:

I like the navy trench coat. It's a classic. Don't like QL shoes. Too chunky.

Fun to see all the ladies of the house adopt the standard uniform trench with slim leg trousers and sensible shoes. I love this neat Hugo Boss Cirala on Letizia, it has a nice soft fabric which makes it easier to tie the belt without becoming too bulky. And the Uterque brogues remain seriously impressive, not least because tiny Letizia is able to wear them without looking ridiculous :)
