Gran Canaria is one of Spain’s Canary Islands, off northwestern Africa, and Their Majesties were informed of the deployment and the means used during the wildfires in August.

Well, the fires have been awful, 6000 hectares calcined and 9000 people evacueted in a place which was a natural reserve...
Canarias has a subtropical climate so as in Amazonas to wipe them out it's difficult. A disaster as you can see here..

Aren't the same trousers she wore at the hospital to visit Don Juan Carlos? Obviously with the blazer we could not see them well, but you are so wise...

At first I thought that too, but the pleated front is different and the one's worn to hospital have a cuffed hem and no belt detail.

Y los pantalones podrían ser los que llevó el año pasado al pueblo ejemplar de los Premios Princesa de Asturias?

The Queen looks appropriately attired for the event. While retaining her usual glossy polish, she looks relatable and muted for the seriousness of the occasion. The Hugo Boss blouse has no seams at the shoulders/arm holes so the polka dot design isn't broken, the initial effect looks striking and allows her to be seen amongst the crowd. There are interesting panels at the back of the top, which most likely help taper the silhouette so it sits neatly under a waist band. This is a considered detail which balances the width of the sleeves. It's a shame that the same attention wasn't given to matching the pattern on the seams, particularly the sleeves, I expect more at this price level. I would imagine that the trousers in stretch twill provided ease for the days agenda (I'm so pleased that the Boss tag hanging from waist band was removed or hidden). Perfect fit, the classical combination of navy and beige and accessories of quality looked smart and relaxed for the nature of the days engagement.

My goodness you've seen a lot more in the construction of the top than I could and helped explain the lean fit in a loose top that I was impressed by. Many thanks. Mismatched seams are so common now and I'm afraid I'm giving in and accepting them. Thank you therefore for continuing to fight the corner for good tailoring!

I have never heard of Gran Canaria. It looks like a beautiful island. I'm sorry about the devastation occurring there. Letizia's outfit was perfect for the occasion. The pants are casual and comfortable and along with the loafers look great paired with that eye catching polka dot top. Tan and navy make a wonderful colour combination.

The Canary Islands (Islas Canarias, in Spanish)are a terrific holyday destination, they have a subtropical climate so winters are warm and summers not very hot, every island is different and gorgeous, beautiful beaches and landscapes, they are: Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, La Palma, La Gomera and Hierro, in the last one a series has been shoot....

O.K. I have heard of the Canary Islands and Tenerife sounds familiar. I hope to visit someday.

I love this outfit. The combination of top and pants is perfect. The top is very pretty, and the pants fit the Queen perfectly and are a great length. Love her flats. The combined colours are glorious.

Oh dear, oh dear, distracted by the royal tour and I've missed posts here. I've only seen one outing by Letizia this week, and it wasn't either of these. She's sneaked past me! Really love this Hugo Boss pairing, those tan spots on the top are a nice variation on polka dots and give it added edge. The top looks loose yet not baggy, it fits Letizia nicely and is kept fresh by the three-quarter sleeves. The pants are lovely, paper bag is a tricky style but Hugo Boss is more than in charge of the tailoring to keep it fully elegant. The tapering is lovely and the crop just enough to look neat and uncluttered. Interested to see the queen wearing flats but expect they were on uneven terrain here. Such a tragedy for the holiday island.
