Hooray for the Torretta pant suit which is definitely one for standing out in the crowd. Letizia continues to wear it with aplomb and it has a nice balance between dressy and business which means it can just about get away with daywear as well as evening as per the last time. Love that clutch and happy it's been repeated, it was made for this outfit, and the earrings are fabulous.

What's interesting about these pictures is they clearly show the height difference between Letizia who according to internet sources claims to be 5' 7" tall and Mathilde who claims 5' 7 1/2" tall. There is no way Letizia is that height. Even if Mathilde is 5' 9" (as some sources claim) no way is Leti 5' 7" She looks like a petite woman of 5' 3" or 5' 4" at the most. Even with her 4" or 5" heels she is much shorter than Mathilde. Why do famous people exaggerate their height?

She has never said anything about her height, as far as know, not even Casa Real. it has been internet. People in Spain know that she is about 1,66-67, I don't understand what you wrote. Matilde is not only tall she's big. In Spain we are not so tall in general, she is the average height for a woman of her age. New generations are taller.

Wendy, would you be so kind as to describe what is Casa Real? I have seen the term used before but I don't know what it means. Thank you.

Foreign people is a bit observed with her height, what weird!! She is not a horse, in Spain we don't care at all....No wonder the heels in the end, in South America she wore flats...

This is a blog about Su Majestad la Reina de España, my Queen!! She is not Kim Kardashian. Maybe you don't have in mind the importance of that!!

In Spain's is considered rude to speak about someone's height or weight, I suspect in UK too, I have never heard of Queen Elizabeth weight or height . A friend of mine says that it's an American theme.... It's the Queen not a model. She is not in a beauty contest, which are very awfully considered here also.

Sorry, ladies! I didn't mean to offend or be rude it's just that someone raised this issue in a previous post. There was a bit of controversy as someone said Letizia was tall and I always thought she was on the petite side. It's just an observation. But, Sonia I thought in Spain they have talked about Letizia being underweight and having anorexia since she came got married?? Your press certainly doesn't think it's rude. They say worse things about Letizia than her height & weight..

Sonia, thanks for the information on the situation in Spain. It is a fascinating & beautiful country despite all the political problems. I now have a better understanding of how the monarchy and press operate. I know this is a site focused on Letizia's style and clothes but it is interesting to touch on some other topics once in a while.

Sandy, I must point out that everyone respects Felipe , he is a great Head of State and he is the King, we can't forget this. He represents the unity of the country and NOBODY criticises him. He earns less money than his father Juan Carlos, he has lowed his own salary and pays taxes, so the political situation is good right now. This week the government has changed.

Sonia, I am not a fan of monarchy's but even I admire Felipe. He has had to overcome so many obstacles from his father and sister and the Catalans etc. etc. He is doing a great job trying to unify Spain. You are very fortunate to have him as your King. As for Letizia being a commoner we are ALL commoners in the end. Their is no such thing as 'royal blood'. Spaniards need to get over that.

Sandy, do you understand Spanish??? The press IN SPAIN has never writen anything about anorexia...The German tabloids are saying that the divorce is imminent...We don't have tabloids, as far as I know, the serious press do not speak about people's illness so easily.

Wendy, I heard all of this on the internet (Youtube, Royal Dish etc etc.) Wasn't there a big scandal on Easter when Letizia had an argument with Sofia in the church? Did the Spanish press not criticize Letizia's behavior?

That's a different issue!! Sofia has been considered the Queen and very loved. Sofia always will beat. Here the press has said that they don't know what happened....the people took part... not the press.....The Monarchy has lost power, but not all its power...

Sandy, Casa Real is the shorter name of 'Casa de Su Majestad el Rey de España', who is the body within which the King develops his functions as Head of State. Casa Real also refers to the internal organization of the private residence of the Spanish Royal Family in the Palacio de la Zarzuela.

Actually Wendy, I have seen Queen Elizabeth's height listed at 5 feet 4 inches in many sources over many years. Here in Canada it is not disrespectful or rude to talk about it. She is officially our Queen & Head of State.

Sandy, one thing is to say that Letizia is about 1,67 and thin... and another one is speaking about anorexia, and saying she is very petite...One thing is factual , the other is subjetive and even spiteful.

Wendy, I never said Letizia is short. To me she looks to be of average height. Taller doesn't necessarily mean "better". It's a combination of things that make a person what they are- intelligence, personality, looks, character, morality etc. etc. As for anorexia it was only speculation on the part of the "press" or whoever started the rumours. You have to admit the day Letizia got engaged she looked very healthy & happy and at a good weight. By 2007 she looked very very thin, gaunt and unhealthy. So when someone loses so much weight people become concerned and fear they may be sick or have an eating disorder. That's just the way it is I'm afraid. Famous people have to put up with these things.

Thanks Alicia. I see, it's like referring to the White House when talking about President Trumps activities, plans, press releases etc etc. I understand now.

Exactly! The White House is a perfect example of this type of organization: the office of the head of state but also his (or her...) residence. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
