The Spanish princesses commenced the school year today and were accompanied by their parents King Felipe and Queen Letizia on their way to the Santa Maria de los Rosales college.

Once again the Queen has cleverly thrown a blazer over her basics. It takes the very casual cropped leggings/jeggings and loose tee up a notch, where a long cardigan or sweater would fail. The mixed colours in the tartan check are vibrant and fun, they look sharp against the black. It's quite a fashionable piece with it's padded shoulders, boxy cut and minimal detailing, it has an air of effortless cool. A brilliant effort has gone into matching the check on the side seams, even the pocket flaps and collar have been sensitively placed. The skin tight pants sit comfortably under the oversized shape. I'd rather the zip trimmings at the ankles had been worn closed but this is a tiny detail, the cropped length looks youthful especially when paired with black trainers. I don't usually like branding (the Hugo across the backs of the trainers) but the outfit as a whole feels unintentionally trendy, it works. Lovely to see Letizia looking so natural in the hair and makeup department, she looks looks amazing without all of the extras. I'm sure this ensemble was relatable to other mums on the busy school run. As usual King Felipe appears impeccably regal.

I think this oversize blazer pairs well with the skinny black leggings. Letizia looks so comfortable & relaxed in this autumn/fall outfit. The the zippers at the bottom of the leggings look cute even though they don't serve any real purpose. The cool Hugo sneakers complete the laid back and casual outfit. Although the price of the jacket really isn't what you would associate with casual. 500 bucks!

What a beautiful jacket the Sandro is,the plaid is lovely, though the wide cut is a little boxy on Letizia. That's be fashion no doubt. The leggings are edgy with their zips and the Hugo hybrids look great. Letizia at her casual best.
