The Queen of Spain is on a 3-day visit to the Dominican Republic and the Republic of Haiti to see first-hand the projects carried out by Spanish Cooperation in both Caribbean countries. The Spanish Cooperation is the sum of all people, institutions, resources and skills that Spain offers to developing countries with the end goal of contributing to human development, the eradication of poverty and full access to rights.
Her Majesty arrived in the Dominican Republic on Sunday with the program proper being today. Her first stop was the town of Monte Plata, where the Spanish cooperation has underway a water distribution project in a very disadvantaged area.
Letizia looked cool and comfortable in low-key yet professional ensemble for this morning's tour.
She combined her white Massimo Dutti crepe trousers with a new striped blouse (£59.95) also by the Spanish high-street label.
She coordinated the pieces with a navy single-breasted blazer. It is the BOSS 'Juicy' jacket by Hugo Boss (US$575) - a style she also owns in black.
Letizia carried her blue Hugo Boss suede bag which she premiered in 2013, and on her feet were a new pair of woven oxford shoes which are yet to be identified.
She completed the look with dainty diamond stud earrings.
Following this, Queen Letizia headed back to the capital for lunch with the President and First Lady of the Dominican Republic at the Presidential Palace in Santo Domingo.
Afterward Her Majesty visited the Spanish Cultural Center for an event celebrating the 30th anniversary of the presence of the Spanish Cooperation in the Dominican Republic.
Letizia brought her style 'A' game and knocked it out of the park in a white and black polka-dot printed frock by her go-to fashion house, Carolina Herrera.
The sleeveless silk gauze dress features a halter neckline and sash belt at the waistline. The piece is from the designer's Evening 2018 collection and retails for €590. It is currently only available at flagship stores.
We saw the return of her black Magrit illusion d'Orsay pointed-toe pumps which she only debuted last week at a luncheon for the President of Colombia.
Always a stickler for coordination Letizia further married the white and black colour scheme with her Coolook two-tone onyx 'Luna' earrings (€333).
Tomorrow's program will see Her Majesty visit the towns of Azua and Baní, before continuing on to Haiti for the second part of her Spanish Cooperation tour in the Caribbean.

I have not seen any clear pics which show the front of the dress so I think it will be difficult to identify. I hope she wears it it again because it looks fabulous on her

I love the navy blazer with the striped top combination. I am going to have to copy that look. But the blazer cost $575.00 US? That is very expensive!! I get the same quality at H&M for $39.99 CAD. Can you really tell the difference?

I think you could tell the difference between such blazers the second you shrugged into the designer one! The fabric will fit and glide where the economy version will simple and bulge in places you never noticed till you tried the pricey one. I'm not in the Hugo Boss income bracket myself but I do go a couple of notches up on the cost if a navy blazer, it is such a key garment. Another dodge I've found is amazing jacket bargains on eBay. I have a couple of neutral tone summer jackets by Planet which are brilliant and cosy pennies. My most recent find in a navy blazer was in the Pure sale, a terrific hunting ground there. Amazing cut and finish for the price!

Bertie, O.K. I'm sure if you inspected the blazers very closely you would see a superiority in the Hugo Boss one. But to be honest no one really notices those very minor details. I stand by the H&M ones I buy. They really are very well constructed and fit great for the cost. And they do last for years. Perhaps one should spend more on a black or navy blazer if you can afford it. A high quality one might last decades. I'm happy you found some great bargains. Enjoy them!!

Sandy, I am surprised, that you would say you can get the same quality in a blazer from H&M, as you would find in Hugo Boss. You might get the same look, the same overall impression, the same fashion statement, but you would never get the same quality. For a classic piece like a navy blazer, that would be worn often and for many years, I'd opt for a happy medium between $575 and $39.99.

Laura, I guess I was exaggerating by saying "same quality". But my H&M ones do last for many years and still look great. Believe me, I wish some of my clothes would wear out so I could get rid of them without feeling guilty. I have far too many clothes and they don't get worn often enough to justify the purchase. And I do find many of today's ready to wear garments are surprisingly strong and of high quality considering the cost. Some of my favorite items were very reasonably priced and I have had them for decades. You're right if you're going to invest in a blazer mid-range is the way to go like Jones New York or Liz Claiborne.

I love the snappy stripes on the blouse, how to be comfortable and smart at the same time. Great colours with navy jacket and white pants. The shoes look comfortable but a touch clunky, I suppose trainers would be more summery but less surely. Overall a great outfit

Letizia moves seamlessly from casual to dressy, as seen in the lovely white pants, striped shirt outfit, to the lovely, feminine polka dot dress. The dress is spectacular on her. Glad to see that twice lately she has worn flat shoes giving her feet and body a break. But then I see that with the dress she wore the very high, plastic side shoes. Oh well, let's hope at home she wears slippers or Birkenstocks. :-)

What a lovely dress! I love the cut-away neckline. It suits Letizia perfectly, showing off her slim shoulders and 'power arms'.

LOVE that Carolina Herrera dress. I am relatively new to following your work and I don't think I have seen Queen Letizia in this style of dress before but it really works on her. Fits like a dream and the perfect length. Great option for the tropical location.
