Queen Letizia looks chic in black for opening night of Parténope

The King and Queen of Spain attended the premiere of the opera 'Parténope', in three acts by Georg Friedrich Händel (1685-1759), co-produced by the English National Opera, the San Francisco Opera and the Opera Australia, at Teatro Real, Madrid.

Partenope was first performed at the King's Theatre in London on 24th February 1730. Although following the structure and forms of opera seria, the work is humorous in character and light-textured in music, with a plot involving romantic complications and gender confusion.
After the performance, Their Majesties were greeted by the artistic director of the Teatro Real, Joan Matabosch, and met with directors and artists of the Parténope opera.

At first I thought that Letizia was wearing a jumpsuit. This is a very severe look and some jewellery such as a necklace or brooch would help break up the sombre all black attire. I can't decide whether or not I like the shoes. Letizia's hair is rather messy looking, which is unusual for her.

The Queen looks chic in all-black. The combination of minimalist quality garments that fit perfectly, create a long and clean ensemble. Individually, each item has muted flair: the elegant raised neckline, the 'Hepburn' inspired trousers and the subtle coordination between the crystal clasp on the clutch and stunning drop earrings. Minor quibble, the Carolina Herrera trousers are supposed to be cropped (see stock images above). Letizia is wearing them as long formal trousers. For the most lengthening effect, the hems should hover just above the ground, not drag (if you zoom into the photograph of her wearing the cape you can see that the hems are at least an inch above the ground). I favour long wide-leg trousers so I would have possibly taken fabric from the hems to lengthen them.

Letizia looks great in her all black ensemble, and how wonderful to have an all-new outfit, bar accessories, for the opera. The sleeveless Hugo Boss Lustrous top adds a dignified touch of sparkle for evening and the deep trouser waistband is dramatic and glamorous, the soft pleats of fabric coming out from under are generous and feminine.

I love the 18th century touch of swagger in the tongue of the Magrit pumps, consistent with the time when Handel was composing. Further hints of baroque are delivered via the elegant Tod's Marlene clutch and the Yanes chandelier earrings. The pony tail is a simple way to keep hair out of face, and the Herrera furry collar cape worn over all is perfect for opera and swashbuckling.

I love this simplistic, and subtle outfit. Clear cut lines, it is totally chic. The temptation to over compensate can be unnecessary, jewels and scarfs, I appreciate the restraint here, and it works beautifully, the quality of the pieces is superb. Sometimes less is more. The pants are of a lovely fabric. The shoes are absolutely divine. The black satin clutch is gorgeous. The diamond chandelier earrings are a clever addition. Stunning CH collared cape, I love, a wonderful addition in my wardrobe! I wish.

Everybody is tiny standing beside the King, he is 1,97 tall. Letizia is 1,70, I would say normal.
