Emilia Pardo Bazán (1851 - 1921), was a Spanish novelist, journalist, literary critic, poet, playwright, translator, editor and professor. She is known for introducing naturalism into Spanish literature, for her detailed descriptions of reality, and for her ground-breaking introduction of feminist ideas into the literature of her era. Pardo Bazán's ideas regarding women's rights for education made her a prominent feminist figure.

Through more than two hundred pieces including books, manuscripts, photographs, etc, the exhibition explores the multifaceted character of Emilia Pardo Bazán, one of the great European writers of her generation. Her Majesty and the attending authorities received a guided tour from the curator of the exhibition, Isabel Burdiel Bueno.

I looove this outfit! I thik the dress is very flattering, and the snake-shoes and bag are one of my favourites.

It's wonderful to see the Queen repeat some of the gorgeous dresses within her wardrobe. The Pedro Del Hierro above and the Bottega Veneta worn last week remind me of 50s Hollywood glamour with their full skirts and nipped-in waists. Both dresses embody the feminine elegance of pieces worn by style icons such as Grace Kelly. Minor quibble, I loved the sleek line of the Magrit pumps, I wish Letizia hadn't added the rubber platform (I have the same peeve with the Manolo Blahnik snakeskin-embossed pumps she often wears).

It's so lovely to see this Pedro Del Hierro dress again, it's beautiful cut, exquisite seaming, the swing of the flare in the softly pleated skirt. I remain in awe of the cut of the neckline and armholes, subtle curves that guarantee femininity. It is a wonder.

The way the skirt is constructed, with the two soft pleats to either side of the plain centre panel adding flare to the skirt, while maintaining superb elegance is deft, unusual, and so accomplished. This is everything that a dress should be, and a perfect pick for a sober literary evening. The Queen can attend the show, pose for photographs and retain full dignity in the quiet cream monochrome.

The Magrit croc accessories are just the right amount of contrast and those Skyline crawler earrings are in equally perfect harmony. I think you could say I like it.

Fully agree with everything you so elegantly state, Bertie. This dress is perfect in every way. The shoes and purse are the best accessories so far to go with the ivory. My only quibble is the newly added rubber platform on the shoes. Why???

I share your views on that platform entirely. Inexplicable!

I didn’t notice it, but maybe one explanation could be that this platform make the shoes more comfortable? But I don’t know.🤷🏻‍♀️

This is a wonderful dress, its simplicity so very stylish. The back view equally lovely as the front. Superbly crafted. The full skirt with its impeccable movement and flow indicative of the marvellous cut and craftmanship of this dress. I love the addition of the snakeskin, pumps and clutch. Gorgeous outfit.

I saw some sideshots of the dress in the Daily Mail report and the seaming was even more extraordinary than I thought, with slanting diagonals and insets
