I really like the look of this whole outfit…coat and all. Very pretty. My favorite part though is her hair. I like it pulled back like this. Beautiful 👍🏻

The coat is very stylish, but when outside, the dress hanging below the coat's hem, made for a rather sloppy look. I would prefer the dress if the skirt wasn't in tiers. The pattern of the houndstooth check is thrown off, as each tier is a mismatch to the one below it. The belt, purse and shoes are just fine.

The dress hanging bellow the coats hem is stylist and elegant. All designers in France, Italy and Spain do the same and they are the places where the fashion starts. Maybe in places where a "coatdress" is "normal" could be considered right. It seems that you have no money for a dress underneath.
From France.

I agree it looks careless when a skirt hem seems to wander away from a coat hem unintentionally. It seems especially odd for a state visit arrival. Thanks for your comments on the pattern mismatch between skirt layers, it does add to an air of confusion and weak tailoring.

This is a perfect outfit IMHO. The dress is very beautiful, elegant and stylish. I love the print which appears to be a form of glen plaid which is one of my favorites because it is classic. I envy the warm weather that Spain enjoys in winter. I could only dream of wearing this dress in Feb. Shoes outside are out of the question. We are expecting 20 cm of snow this week in addition to the over 60 cm that fell last month. We don't have any place to put it! I wish I was in Spain.

Actually It is not Spain, she was in Vienna, (Austria), Central Europe.

Thanks Simeone. I noticed my error after I posted.

I really like this dress….even the tiered skirt, which is often not my favourite. The tiers break up the pattern and seem to soften the impact of such an overwhelming print. I like this so much more than the Massimo Dutti skirt with the uneven hem. The coat looks great!

This is a very serviceable outfit, but it has a few flaws as Laura pointed out. The dress looks similar to a few others Leti wears and I found the whole look rather boring.

Unfortunately I am not a fan of this CH oversized black coat. I realize it is the style of coat, but it overwhelms the Queen, its very boxy and large., thus IMO not flattering. The dress I am struggling with. I personally don't like tiered dresses and this is no different with this dress. The pattern of this dress I don't like, there is something amiss, but I don't quite know what! Love the diamond and pearl drop earrings.

I was surprised to learn this was a new dress, it looks like so many others Letizia has. The cross-cut of bodice and skirt check panels gives some interest, but the bodice appears too loose and full, and the hem uncertain where to land with its multiple ruffle tiers.

The Burberry belt seems altogether too bulky, emphasizing the loose bodice and giving a matronly effect. And, being worn with black coat and accessories, this makes the second near-funereal outfit Letizia has worn this month. The outsize Caroline Herrera was lightened when in pink but is too heavy in black, though it clearly hangs beautifully -- the joy of cashmere in the yarn,

I remain a firm fan of the diamond and pearl drop earrings, the outfit needs the lift of sparkle, and it's good to see Letizia's hair held neatly back so we can better see them.

It is Vienna, Austria and a Remembrance of the Nazi holocaust. There are photos offering flowers to the Spanish citizens who were killed there. So she is perfect in mourning. It is important to understand the evento.

Here we have Meghan, and she is American, she wears the coat shorter.

Interesting. For the first time in months, queen letizia put pantyhose. If I can see exactly, there are thin pantyhose 8-10 denier. In 2016-2018, queen letizia regularly wore pantyhose. After 2018, she started wearing them less often, and in 2021 she probably only put them on once.I hope that she would start wearing pantyhose more often

This is the first time in months that she has been wearing pantyhose. In 2014-2018, she regularly wore pantyhose. In 2019, it was done sporadically. In 2020 and 2021, she only wore pantyhose once. As far as I can see, they are thin pantyhose, 8-10 denier thick

Thin pantyhose are considered tacky in France, Spain, Italy, etc..and only for nuns. She has perfect legs and does not need to cover them. As she was in Austria and a bit colder, she needed to cover her legs.
