Queen Letizia meets film-making king Martin Scorsese

The King and Queen of Spain traveled to Oviedo today to preside over the Princess of Asturias Awards 2018. Over the next few days, King Felipe and Queen Letizia will deliver a series of prizes to individuals, entities or companies from around the world who make notable achievements in the sciences, humanities, and public affairs.

On arrival in Oviedo, Their Majesties went their separate ways. Queen Letizia attended a tribute to Martin Scorsese and held a meeting with the director and inspiring filmmakers.

This is what I love about Letizia. She can make a $39.99 top from Zara look like it's high end designer. Regular folks like us can relate to her sense of style unlike some celebrities who wear really expensive clothes. The grey plaid is very classic and the tie waist is a nice detail. Those trousers are interesting because I have never seen such wide cuffs on a slim pant. I like them.

Such a fun outfit despite all the monochrome. The sleeveless Zara looks quite in keeping with the presumably designer pants, with its charming open plaid pattern and expertly knotted tie-belt. The trousers are just wonderful, surely only Letizia could carry off that huge turn-up, it looks utterly elegant over the Prada courts. The studs on the Uterque bag are a clever finishing touch. It's a joy to see real royal style expert Letizia at work!

Dear Elizabeth, the trousers are Zara. I have a pair as well. Only I am taller and they look like 7/8 on me. They were very reasonable in price, about CHF 80 if I remember well. They still sell them, at least in Switzerland.

I'm not certainly sure, due to the green color, but it seems to be very similar in cut. It belongs to Zara's Timeless Collection, that features models over 40.

Thanks for the link Senda. Unfortunately I don't think they are a match. This pair is a relaxed fit whereas Letizia's pants have a slim leg. Hopefully Sophie can shed more light on the style!
