Queen Letizia was on hand this evening to present two Spanish children/youth literature awards, “El Barco de Vapor” and “Gran Angular.”
The annual awards in Madrid are organised by the SM Foundation whose goal is to promote youth-focused books and reading.
Her Majesty brought back the black Hugo Boss 'Duxida' tuxedo jumpsuit for the occasion, which she debuted in Paris at the 2016 World Cancer Congress in October 2016.
Queen Letizia contrasted the one-piece with a petrol blue suede bag and matching shoes.
The new pieces are from her go-to accessories designer, Magrit. They are the Spanish brand's 'Cloe' studded clutch (US$372) and 'Cristina' pointed-toe mules (US$396).
Letizia finished the look with her exquisite aquamarine teardrop earrings which where a gift from the Italian jewelry house Bvlgari following the birth of Letizia's first daughter, Leonor.
Queen Letizia's ensemble today was consistent with her recent adoption of edgier styles for this annual awards ceremony. Do you have a favorite?

Wow, gorgeous!! I own that jumpsuit myself. The mules are great in petroleum colour...(in Spain we name that colour like that)..

Elizabeth, I didn't realise that you had written "petrol blue"...so you call that colour the same way.

One question Nuria. Are they difficult for everyday wear? The reason I dislike jumpsuits it that they seem uncomfortable especially when having to use the restroom. I can imagine you have to undo everything and then redo everything.and adjust it all over again. It must be very difficult. I prefer separates for this reason.

It depends on the design, this one has an invisible zipper at the front so it's easy.

Letizia looks amazing. In her speech we can see the true passion she has for books. I myself love the company of a good book. I'm always reading one. Letizia wears in this literary events besides good outfits, a true passion and joy that we don't see in other occasions. My favorite look is 2017.

She is a journalist, I reckon that sometimes she longs for her former job.

I love a good jumpsuit and really like this look. The mules are so on trend at the moment, and this design is very original, also a good colour.

Actually, you are right. Women don't wear Hugo Boss to much in Spain, me either. I only own that item from the brand.

Fantastic! This ensemble looks modern, chic, and energetic all at the same time. I wish I could have that jumpsuit too, Nuria. In a previous post someone pointed out that Letizia does not wear necklaces. I don't think it is necessary but for me the v-neck would be an opportunity to showcase a pretty necklace. Actually, since we were speaking of the Portuguese earrings earlier, I have a filigree heart pendant from Portugal (in silver because I am too poor for gold) and I would wear it with this jumpsuit . . . if Nuria would be so kind as to lend hers to me ;-)

Do you know that pearl necklace is considered by experts as the most valuable jewel of the joyas de pasar? More than any tiara?

What a fantastic outfit, everything works in balance together. Letizia is such a tiny woman, the cut of Hugp Boss must really work for her shape.

I love simply this HB jumpsuit and the tux styling is one of the best takes on that theme I've seen in one of these outfits. It fits Letizia like a dream. The matching of the studded clutch and shoes is brilliant and I love the splash of cobalt blue adding a spark of life to the monochrome. Beautifully executed, and Letizia at her best.
