Letizia looks just fine and the red dress fits her so well. The earrings are spectacular. However, the other ladies were wearing hats to meet the Spanish Royals, and so Letizia should have worn a hat also. She usually does not wear hats, although I do recall that she wore one when meeting the late Queen Elizabeth in the UK.

This would have been a perfect occasion for Queen Letizia to don a hat, and although it may not be protocol, I believe it was a missed opportunity.

Queen Sofía abolished the hats in Spain, also It is seen as ridiculous, she probably wore a hat in UK because Queen Elizabeth was so old.

To Loli, It is fine for Letizia to establish a dress code in Spain, but she was visiting Denmark. She should adhere to the Danish dress code for royalty, even if she thinks it is ridiculous. As a guest, visiting Denmark representing Spain, it is her responsibility to align diplomatically with the code and protocols of the host country.
The Queen of Denmark is 82, not as old as Queen Elizabeth, but old enough to warrant respect.
The saying, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" certainly applies.

Letizia did not establish the code, It was Queen Sofía in 1978. Actually as Spain is a Monarchy older and was an Empire , It is the most important and you do not need to follow them .
UK is an important Monarchy and was an Empire. You only need to see their curtseys in Denmark. There are Kings...and Kings...

Denmark never was an Empire, the rank of the King of Spain is higher, so they do not need to adhere to their code. Princess Mary almost took her knee in the floor in her curtsy, not every Monarch has the same rank.
Queen Elizabeth was the Queen of the Comonwelth so se even nowadays had an Empire, her rank was the same. Also Queen Elizabeth was close family.

Actually, Queen Sofía has never worn a hat in her Life and she was born as a Princess of Denmark and Greece.

Its lovely to see a rewear of this red dress. It fits well and looks so stylish and chic. The shoes are beautiful, love them.

I'm very happy to see Letizia reprise this immaculate Caroline Herrera sheath with its elegant piping. With her hair up and those ruby and diamond dove earrings she looks every inch the visiting royal.

The & Other Stores tie belt oatmeal coat looks elegant and managed an oversize vibe without swamping petite Letizia. The burgundy Magrit croc clutch and plain Vamp pumps are a lovely contrast with the coat and nicely matched to the beautifully tailored dress underneath.
