Their Majesties were expected to attend TIS together. However, King Felipe VI is currently self-isolating after having come into contact with an individual on Sunday who has since tested positive for COVID-19. Before entering the Conference Center, Her Majesty and the attending authorities observed a minutes silence on the occasion of the International Day Against Gender Violence.

The TIS aims to become the largest international forum for innovation in the tourism sector. It provides leaders of the tourism industry with a space to exchange strategies and technological solutions to define the actions of the tourism sector for the next decade. The new event will be held annually with the aim of attracting investment into the city and being the world's showcase for tourism technology. Seville was chosen to host the event due to its ambition to create an ecosystem that turns the city into a laboratory of innovations and a technological centre.

Cherubina is from Sevilla and she is in Sevilla today. They are now selling pijamas and homewear as in Andalucía things are open only until 6pm.( people needs to reinvent theirselves.) Every region has different curfews and restrictions.
I think she has removed the belt and added the leather one?

PS: Don Felipe is well up to now.

Letizia looks nice as always, but I did like this dress better the way it was styled the first time she wore it. The belt, the hat, the brooch all made it a very special look the first time. I especially did not like the white purse she wore today.

I agree with you, Darla, that the styling of the dress looked better when it was worn previously. I also agree that the white shoulder purse was wrong in both colour and style. This is not one of Letizia's best efforts.

This ensemble is perfectly presentable, but sadly, it doesn't quite work for me. There are too many details from different decades. Cherubina is based in Seville, so I appreciate why the Queen chose to repeat this piece. However, a classically modern re-wear may have been more in keeping for an event based on innovation and technology. The garment is nicely made, but I dislike the shiny satin and the fit needs more refinement. The styling, particularly the chain strap bag doesn't blend with the era of the dress. Fortunately, the coat mostly covers the 1940's details creating a more cohesive look. As I have mentioned previously, I loathe the rubber tread on the Blahniks. It subtracts from the elegant line of the pumps. As always, Letizia looks beautiful with her hair neatly swept off of her face.
Looking back at the Order of Garter post I see that I judged the Didi dress more favourably. The dress could have been truly sublime if the Queen had requested a custom made version in lined buttery silk tailored to 'Her'. The silhouette would have draped effortlessly over the body and been infinitely timeless. Skilled finesse subtly referencing the 1940's would have appeared contemporary and flowed harmoniously with modern accessories, preferably in an off white or pale grey colour to lift the graceful look.

Jenniffer, I appreciate your effort, but Letizia is not so interested in the outfits. As I said, they have not earned the whole salary this year and they are living with less money up to now. And people in Spain is not interested at all in her clothes, now less than ever, so she only needs to blend and go on. In fact, the criticism about her is very low now. I'm afraid, this is not the country for you are looking for.

Hi Montse, thank you for your feedback. I appreciate that many people in Spain are not interested in the Queen's sartorial choices, particularly during a world crisis. However, it is worth remembering that her endorsement often leads to a boost in sales for companies. Here are two links for interviews HOLA did with Vintage Ibiza and Macarena during the summer. Both brands state that having had Letizia wear their products they had seen an increase in sales, which I am sure was very welcome with the fall in tourism. This is a style blog designated to Queen Letizia, but I acknowledge that I have been very critical. It appears that Eva Fernández, Letizia's stylist, has been back at work for some time, as both articles indicate that they were contacted by a stylist. All I am trying to convey is that if items were chosen better (in some cases), garments could be mixed and matched seamlessly across Letizia's wardrobe. As a result, fewer new items could be purchased in the future.

I agree, Montse. It is admirable that Letizia has toned down her outfits. We should cut her some slack and be positive at this time. We are in the middle of a very serious pandemic. People are sick and dying all over the world. I think her mind is on the suffering of the Spanish people and not her clothes.

Jennifer, probably yo do not know shops and malls are shut in most Spain, I think they are only open in Madrid and Andalucia (until 6pm) and as many people work from home almost nobody buys clothes. We can't leave our own region and in some parts of the country their own town.
As Wendy says, Cherubina is selling online, pijamas and homewear.
The siruation in Europe is horrid, moreover most Europe is in lockdown and all is shut (restaurants, bars, malls, shops, etc)...even in Poland, Hungary, Romania....Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France, Portugal...etc....I doubt anyone is interested in fashion. Even in Christmas restrictions are going on.

I bet you are in a "different" situation? Here people are saving money, just in case, very worried and scared.

Thanks so much for your informed insight into all the details which add up to such a difference in the look of the garment. I'm glad we have a safe space here to consider these matters dispassionately without necessarily taking in all the local politics. I think we can look at Letizia from a broader international basis, removed from those who are under the understandable stress of the very real challenges facing Spain right now. We are all under lockdown, but fashion is one area that one can focus on something else for a few moments at least, and this blog is such a precious place to have for that!

In Spain people is thrilled, she is working non stop despite the pandemic, repeating clothes and not wasting money.
Most of them (even the magazines) do not know the brands of the outfits well, this blog is the most accurate and it comes from Australia....😋 and people comenting from Canada...😉......

This is a beautiful dress, timeless. The first time she wore it, with her choice of accessories, brooch, hat and no black belt etc.. she looked fabulous. With different choice of embellishments, the Queen still generates a lovely appearance, but a different overall look. I understand, totally different circumstances. I love the CH a line belted coat, very feminine.

800 people died yesterday in Italy, 600 France, 600 Uk, 500 Poland, 400 Germany......250 Spain...

Most of the country in lockdown and higly likely without Christmas.
I enter here for a bit of light, dear friends, but here we are a bit depressed, I'm afraid....as probably the Queen...sorry.

Elizabeth must know what I am talking about, Australia has been shut for a while too...hasn't it?

Hi Wendy, it is worrisome to see what is happening abroad. My city (Melbourne) spent over 100 days in lock down but now we have had no COVID cases for 28+ days. We have effectively eliminated the virus. It fells good to be return to some form of normalcy but we don't take for granted how hard we have worked to achieve this, but also how fragile the situation still is. A vaccine can't come soon enough!

Hi Elizabeth! Lucky you! I do not see the end soon, we had a very strict lockdown in spring but everytime it is lifted the bug appears again.

Only the vaccine will be the solution, it seems here starts the vaccunation in January. Time wiil tell!!

Doña Letizia is the Regent right now, as Don Felipe is in self-isolation for 14 days despite having tested negative.
Many people loosing their jobs because bars, restaurants, shops are closed in most regions of the country unless in Madrid where they are open but with restrictions.
No weddings, no gathers, etc...so nobody buying clothes, however the IT sector is rocketing...
Hope everybody is well!!

This is a style blog, so comments about style are not only appropriate but expected. The pandemic is awful, but there may be another blog to air concerns about that. For me, I like the way she styled it prior with the hat and no belt. She is gorgeous either way though.

I find Letizia during this period to be very mindful to appear professional . Honestly sometimes I am appalled at the criticisms spewed at her choices. I follow the blog for inspiration not an opportunity to pick someone apart. Queen Letizia has an amazing fashion sense and the ability to be in the moment. Her style is just her own unique and refreshing expression of herself.

Writing about someone's fashion choices is not not the same as criticizing the person. I agree with Jennifer that this dress needs to be lined to fall better. It looks like it has been tailored somewhat at the waistline since the first wearing but is not seamles in motion. It also needs to be a little shorter. Since this was an international event, wearing something previously seen at a prestigious occasion is understood....but, she does look a bit too 'buttoned up'.
We know that adjustments are made for her by some fashion houses. No one else will have a white Lola Li, the red strapless dress worn in Argentina is the only one made in that color, and the same I think applies to the navy jumpsuit worn to the Teatro Real in 2018
The shoes are fine, but a black or red purse would have matched up much better. That said, she still looked beautiful, delivered her speech in two languages and represented the monarch well.

I've been trying for a couple of days but I just can't like this Cherubina dress. I like the print and the fabric, but there's something going on with the full sleeves and puff shoulders that seems to land out of proportion and make Letizia look top heavy. The whole dress worked well enough for a formal church service but I haven't seen it translate successfully into work-wear for the Queen.

The Herrera shrug coat doesn't help, as the gentle print fades away under the heavy black, on top of which wearing a loose belt doesn't work when one end is left hanging loose. A belt needs to be secured behind the coat for shrug wearing if it's going to be overlong and in danger of looking messy.

That's a pretty bag, though I fear white is a bit lost against the gentle monochrome and it was better with a plain black clutch. I also find too much texture in croc pumps against that print But Letizia needs to ring the changes and she always looks lovely even when I'm having a grumpy fashion day!

Hi all, I want people to feel comfortable to honestly comment on Queen Letizia’s style, but it must be understood that this is not a criticism of Queen Letizia herself. Her Majesty does an incredible job and she is always well dressed which is why people visit the blog. Discussing the presentation of an outfit helps give readers ideas and inspiration on how to style a look.

Many now understand how fragile the situation in Spain is, and I don’t think the argument needs to be repeated after a style critique is posted. Queen Letizia may not be interested in fashion at this point in time, but many who visit this blog are and use this space for a few minutes of escapism. I want to continue to offer a corner of the web that is lighthearted and frivolous. Let's bring the focus back to fashion.

Thank you x

Thank you Elizabeth for the wonderful job you do preserving this space. Letizia always dresses appropriately and with due respect for all the circumstances in which she finds herself, not least that of acting regent. I think it is possible for us respectfully to consider the nature of the items she wears without straying into politics which are will be welll covered elsewhere on dedicated websites.
