Letizia's outfit looks warm, comfortable and smart. The combination of houndstooth and plaid is always in style. The flat shoes are sleek.

This is a very smart, casual outfit. Letizia looks professional yet comfortable. The plaid blazer is pleasing in its colours. It is also impeccably tailored, with the pattern on the sleeves perfectly matching the plaid on the rest of the garment. The metal on the shoes and the clutch do not match...although that is a small quibble.

I like the different choice of metals. It is more interesting. It's like furniture. If everything in a room matched perfectly, it would be boring. There are no "rules" in fashion because it is an art.

Fashion is subject to personal likes and dislikes, Sandy. I prefer things that match...shoes same colour as purse, all metals in the same tone. Call it boring if you wish, but to me it is harmony. Great that we have a variety of opinions; it makes the comments on this blog more interesting.

Fashion and culture..Labour Day or white shoes has not any sense in Spain (I think it is even on a different date, in Europe it is on the 1st of May) , for example and we wear all denim very often....

This is a very understated ensemble which I am sure was the intention. Individually the garments appear to fit well and the all-black allows the statement blazer to take centre stage. The Queen often wears a simple black knit or a pleated white blouse under a jacket. Once again, I am left hankering for a crisp cotton shirt. In the stock photograph above we can see how uplifting white looks under the plaid blazer. Along with a shirt, a slim black waist belt would have provided further polish while not deviating from the restrained look.

The pretty multitone Sandro plaid looks terrific showcased over black top and slim leg trousers. The colours are feminine and the well-styled jacket keeps the Queen businesslike. It's a good cut which references outsize boxy style,s but only in proportion with Letizia's trim frame. HB flat loafers work well with this.

I love this Houndstooth Plaid Blazer. Its a beautiful cut and fit. The black background works well in this instance, although I do think the white in the stock photo looks fabulous. Its a casual look, but very effective. The black leather loafers are gorgeous.
