The Queen of Spain attended a seminar on informative treatment of disability in social networks today.
Her Majesty looked ready for business as she arrived at the Headquarters of the Medical Association of Spain in Madrid wearing her tweed BOSS 'Keili' Jacket.
She recently debuted the piece at last month's World Rare Disease Day ceremony.
Today she ditched the skirt and opted to team it with basic black trousers and her black Hugo Boss 'Fabrisia' pure wool sweater.
Letizia complemented the outfit with her black Carolina Herrera 'Astrud' clutch bag, and on her feet she wore her Magrit leather pumps.

Hello Elisabeth. I think Letizia looks reallly well even more if we consider the apocalyptic situation she is in right now. I hope you don't mind but I think this video scandal is a nasty business that I don't quite understand:

Patricia, I saw the video and it did look like Letizia was trying to prevent a photo from being taken. I feel sorry for Queen Sofia. I don't see the harm of having the girls photographed in a public place at an Easter Mass. In fact it looks like the girls were perfectly happy to pose until Letizia rudely interrupted. I admire Letizia greatly but I think this situation shows she is overly controlling of her daughters. They are a part of the Spanish royal family and their subjects should see them when they are out in public. If you look at the reactions of King Juan Carlos and Felipe you can tell they feel she was overreacting and out of line.

The girls were photographed, that's not the point. For one thing Letizia doesn't want any relation with a case Nóos supporter. Sofía has been acted as a mother with Cristina, no like a Queen. On the other hand Sofía insisted too much with the photo ( she had pacted the photo before with a friend, and it wasn' t the proper moment also, now the Queen is Letizia and she should choose the photographer) and was squeezing the girls. A mixture of odd things.

I think all is about Cristina has come back to Spain and Letizia is angry. Sofía is supporting her and her husband. All is more complicated now.

Nobody saw the part of the video in which Infanta Sofía, who already has her hand outstretched towards a lady, CAN'T shake her hand because Queen Sofia grabs her for the photo, almost without looking if she finished with her duties or not??? It is at that moment when Queen Letizia realizes

I don't usually like commenting on contrversy but I will say something. Alicia, I saw that part of the video too when Queen Sofia pulls Infanta Sofia away and then Queen Letizia goes to shake that persons hand. It doesn' t seem to me that she was trying to stop the photo she was just touching Princess Leonor's hair and then Queen Sofia pushes her hand away. I don't know who is at wrong here. But I do get that they are Letizia's daughter's and she might be a bit protective. But I don't really think that Letizia is at wrong here as the media is saying as there is no obvious action that Letizia was trying to stop the photo as she was only standing slightly in front of princess Leonor. However it seems to me that Letiza and Felipe and very protective of their daughter, this is perfectly understandable as they are being harassed by the media a lot. Perhaps she did'nt want the media taking photos of her children. I don't think that the media should be making such a big deal, it was a small incident and Queen Sofia may have been a bit intrusive and Queen Letiza responded thats all.

That's right Alicia, two of them must control themselves in public. It's the Crown what is the most important.

Hi Alicia. Yes, in private all problems can be properly solved. Of course there is guilt on both parts but the truth is that with a bit of common sense none of this was necessary. On one hand, Queen Sofia is 80; on the other hand Queen Letizia is very uptight and has the tendency to react to a break of protocol like the whole planet is about to be swallowed by a sea of lava. It's human nature I guess, we all have ower problems and ower burdens but somehow we manage to complicate things to another new level.

Alicia, it could be that Sofia was out of line. But if Letizia had just overlooked Sofia's mistake and allowed the picture to be taken there would not have been this huge incident. I think Letizia has a strong personality but she needs to realize her every move is being watched and scrutinized. Even though she out ranks Sofia she must show her respect at all times and not correct her in public.

That's what I said, leave it for another moment in private, let them finish with the photo and then take the girl to shake the lady's hand as she must have done. That way the whole country would not be talking about the incident for a week ;)

While I am not from Spain so am not aware of all the relationship history/issues of the family I did see a short video of the moment. What struck me the most was that Infanta Sofia herself removed Queen Sofia's hand from her shoulder, twice. A child should have dominion over there own body and I felt Queen Sofia should have respected that.

It's nice to see Letizia mixing and matching the Hugo Boss blazer from a previous occasion. But overall it's a very bland, dull and boring outfit.

Oh honestly, it’s hard to believe how many opinions there are about this very brief video. Every family has tensions and disagreements. Maybe they had agreed to not pose for photos/videos after Mass or something. I think they would all be well served by a refresher Public Image 101 briefing from their media people (and tailor it for the young princess and infanta). Time to get back to other matters, like what Letizia is wearing. ;D

They have visited Juan Carlos in hospital and all is fixed. That's what the Crown must do.

Marie, I know this is primarily a fashion blog about Letizia's style but I appreciate that we are allowed to comment on other indirect matters that sometimes occur. It makes things more interesting and lively. But yes, we should focus on the clothes.

I agree. I saw articles about this online from all over the world before submitting my comment and couldn’t believe how much attention this incident got. These days I’m sure a lot of websites are trying to attract eyeballs = advertising revenue. Thank you for the opportunity to comment on other matters that occur with the royal family.

I live in Toronto, Canada and I was shocked that this story made page 2 of our Saturday paper. I didn't think Canadians cared anything about the Spanish royal family. We are always bombarded with news about the British Royal family. I think it must be a slow news week for the media outlets to make such a big deal out of this. The Daily Mail had thousands of comments on the incident. This may boost Letizia's popularity worldwide!

This jacket is lovely and looked terrific in Queen Letizia's previous outing wearing it, but wearing it with black from neck to toe doesn't do it justice. Maybe if she'd worn it with a coloured belt or a lighter-coloured top?
