Queen Letizia chaired the 3rd conference of the "Informative Treatment Of Disability In Social Networks" at the headquarters of National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC) in Madrid today.
The meeting was organized jointly by The A La Par Foundation, The Federation of Associations of Journalists of Spain (FAPE) and the Council of the Royal Board on Disability.
We haven't seen this pairing in over two years. It was one of Letizia's go-to looks since its debut in May 2015 for a luncheon with the President of Italy. Letizia last wore it during the State visit to the UK in July 2017.
Today she accessorized with her navy Carolina Herrera suede slingback pumps and Loewe Large Double Pouch bag.
Queen Letizia finished the outfit with her gorgeous TOUS blue hydrothermal quartz and amber earrings.

We haven't seen this Carolina Herrera skirt in a long time and this might be one of my favorite outings along with Paris June 2015, mainly because I prefer the sling backs to the sandals worn previously. This skirt is delightful, it's so fresh, I love the refined colour palette and the raised texture of the fabric is beautiful. It embodies a crisp summer morning. I've been wondering if the skirt could be styled differently, but it is so elegant the way it is that an alternate blouse might be a down grade (other than the navy CH taffeta fitted shirt from the look book, the Valera gives a similar effect). There was a matching cardigan within the collection but that may have been too twee for Letizia's modern taste (link below). The silk blouse provides an air of nonchalance to the look with it's soft drape, it's in remarkably good condition considering how often it has been worn. I would be interested to see the ensemble without the belt, I'm undecided if it is necessary or not, I don't think there are belt loops so they wouldn't be empty. The Tous earrings are perfect, the leaves and amber stones subtly complement one another in shape and colour. Minor quibble, I wouldn't have chosen the Loewe clutch it's a little contemporary, I would have preferred the navy Magrit Liz suede clutch or the CH Baret leather clutch. Hair and markup are effortless and natural, adding a relaxed touch to the graceful look.

I agree with your observations, my same thoughts on wearing the Loewe clutch, it is also too big, a nice small cutch in suede. Your two suggestions for handbag were great. I feel she wanted to wear a leather bag so it look more summery. And in that case she should have wore her Magrit 'Mila' navy leather pumps with a slimmer leather clutch.💙

Hi BlondieBlueEye, You're right, I hadn't thought of that before, that a dark leather clutch may feel more summery than dark suede. I adore suede but in dark tones I can see now why it may apear more wintry than leather. That's interesting, thank you!

Very good point about the footwear, the closed-front slingbacks are to be preferred to the open strappy sandals, they give more definition. There again, they may be a more autumn/winter look where sandals help proclaim summer is here. For myself I wouldn't want the belt removed as I feel the skirt might float away without it. It might just be that the definition of that belt with pale fabric either side on the waist is the trick that pulls this particular ensemble together so well, the soft, plain shirt/blouse is perfectly tied in with the floral festival below.

Hi Bertie, very true! after some difficulty finding tops to match the Boss Viplisa skirt and the Adolfo Dominguez floral printed skirt it may we wise to stick to something tried and tested especially when the results are this good. Where possible, I think it can be helpful to look at how the brand styles it's skirts, particularly when they have many colours, Carolina Herrera expertly paired this skirt with a navy shirt. You could well be right, that the slim belt is pulling the whole outfit together, a small but necessary detail. 'Floral festival' what a gorgeous description of the skirt!

Love the earrings. Looks really good with the blue shirt.

I'm happy to see one of my all time favorite Letizia outfits return. Obviously the Queen loves it too based on the numerous times it has been worn. It is so feminine and elegant. The detailed flower embroidery on the bottom of the skirt is exquisite and the blouse in the same dominant dark blue colour helps to highlight it. The blouse is so perfectly tailored and I love the way Letizia rolled up the sleeves giving it a more modern look,

I find it interesting how well a shirt style works here in the soft silk as I'm not always comfortable with the crisp business-like vibe of a shirt against a flowing and decidedly feminine skirt. Sometimes it just strikes me as a bit off and only works with some combinations.

Bertie, I find it interesting that every time Letizia wore this skirt she paired it with the exact same blouse/shirt. It looks great but I would love to see it worn with something else. Is her team lacking creativity or is this one of those pieces that is difficult to style?

Actually, she has not "a team"...only Eva Fenández , every time and again, she works for her to look for things not everyday, she could not pay Eva with her salary...she would earn the same as Letizia and her money is for more thing not only clothes....Felipe and Letizia use their salaries for the girls their school, clothes, eating...

Simone, thanks for the information. So is Eva a stylist who puts together the outfits we see? Or does she buy things for Letizia so she can put her own outfits together? Does she not also have a makeup person and hairstylist?

Sandy, the second option, Letizia puts her own outfits together, she has also and hairstylist and makeup, but she/he is not famous, nobody knows her/his name, so it is not expensive either.

The Queen looks wonderful. I absolutely love this outfit. The sling back shoes are a big win, the bag perfect. Her hair and makeup, subtle, just right. The Tous earrings are stunningly beautiful. She looked terrific from head to toe.

I love seeing this outfit again, it just works for me every time, it's the one time she's found a really happy match in her top with a gorgeous print, something she seems to have struggled with when wearing other bold print skirts. It's amazing how consistent she's been with accessories, the most change taking place in hairstyle alone. But she looks fresh and great every time. Delighted she has an old favourite to return to, always feel sorry for royals being obliged to try looking different for every batch of photos and never able to repeat without all of us knowing. It's so great when I have a favourite outfit that I can wear as a private citizen all over the place and hopefully garner fresh compliments each time lol. #vanity

There are photos at the ballet in Madrid: they watched "Antígona" at Teatros del Canal..
