Shortly after their arrival in the Netherlands for a 3-day State Visit, King Felipe and Queen Letizia attended a reception held for the Spanish community at the NH Collection Amsterdam Barbizon Palace Hotel in the heart of the Dutch capital.

The design of the top is very striking and beautiful but I don't care for the shiny skirt. It looks too much like a slip. I don't think the wide belt works with evening wear. Maybe a narrower one would look better.

Agree with you Sandy, about the skirt having too much of a slip look. It looks better when Letizia is walking, but the creases are distracting when she is standing still. Also, the belt is, as you say, too thick for evening wear.

I thought this outfit oddly low-key until I realised it was for a reception for the local Spanish community, so maybe an evening of mixing with old friends.

I love the top, the folded crossover band with off-shoulder style is very attractive, and I think it's a fun combination with the Hugo Boss satin midi skirt in light beige. At first the skirt looked a bit clumsy where odd wrinkles appeared in photos, but it makes for a great off-beat evening outfit.

The wide HB belt is the perfect finishing touch, the Bottega Veneta Knot Clutch is ideal with its texture variation, and the trusty Herrera slingbacks are doing great work. Am completely in love with the new Herrera crystal cluster earrings. And the lovely sleek bob, although I fear it may be growing already.

That is the problem with shorter hair and blunt cuts- they need more maintenance and frequent trims.

I don't normally like skirts such as this, but in this case, I love this outfit. The off the shoulder top, looks fabulous, work in well with the interesting feature, the crossover. Love the shoes.
The earrings are pretty and her hair looks marvellous. Makeup is natural and on point.

Thanks for sharing the link Barbara! I've taken a closer look and this style is not a match for Letizia's earrings. They are notably smaller and I think Letizia's may have more crystals. I hope she wears them again so we can get a better look at them!

I think Nuria has convinced me they are the earrings! I checked the product description and they say they are about 2.5 cm (~1") so the size may be a match??
